wow: Error: Extensions are not permitted on Steam WORKSHOP
What ???

So lame...

So, if I resume well, we can use extensions in Game Maker PRO but we can't use them in a Steam Workshop project??
This make the extensions very useless..

Since, many of us (on Steam) are more able to distribute our games through a Game Platform (for free) instead through a less known platform...

Tss.. How it is sad :(

What extensions are you trying to use?
Just for testing the MarketPlace:

- Draw Text Shadow
- Random Number Generator
- Rainbow Future (but it appear I was able to "use" it but with the need of deleting the entry added in "Extensions" treeview place.

What version of Studio are you using, all three of those were made in 1.99 or higher... although that might not be an issue.

+Yes, indeed. An extension needs to have Workshop set as a valid option when its created.

Ah, ok - I had a chat with the dude, you can't have Extensions (as an Extension) in the Workshop as Steam considers them a security risk.

However, you can have Included Files - which can include valid extensions (which adds the extension to the project package)
I use PROFESSIONAL version of Game Maker Studio.

So, thanks !
Then it was due to security risk.
But... if I understand very well the Steam WORKSHOP logic:

- Having extensions in a project through Extensions folder --> impossible due to security risk.
- Having extensions in a project through Included Files folder --> possible but finally it is the same impact of security risk.

If yes... This is way illogic xD !

Well, I also have Professional, but I'm not using any betas so I'm still in 1.3

I use Betas since the Betas have MarketPlace and Audio Streaming feature:

Recording And Streaming Audio

31 Oct 2014

In the latest updates to the Early Access version of GameMaker: Studio there have been some major additions to the audio functions:
New getter functions to get information about the state of a sound or the audio system
New listener functions to specifically target a given output like headphones or gamepad (on some targets)
New functions for streaming and recording audio using an audio buffer.
The first two new features are pretty self explanatory and easy enough to use
