There's also D.E.V.I.L, for Descent 1 and 2.
For commercial application, Unreal Engine.
However, if you want to make a clone of the new doom, you'd better have a whole lot of 3d modelling experience.
The easiest way would be like burgee explained and just do a level editor. Making a full blown game, even one with dated graphics, will still be a lot of work. I mean you will need to make all the models, all the levels, all the items, all the code, everything... its a lot of work and there is no easy way that I can think of unless you are using something that already has all of these things in place (like just using a level editor).
Mainly because you used the word easily. A lot of math goes into these games, math I even honestly don't understand. (I just understand that it works and not to question it...)
Also despite whats being said above you don't really need 3d modeling experiance, just math, attention to detail, and determination. 2d models can be used in these kinds of games to much greater effect with the newer technologies we have, you just have to be willing to put the work in.
But again, you used the word easily... so no. Just take a pass on using gamemaker studio if you want to do it easily, otherwise you'll just wind up putting out a Tutorial Edit at most and the world doesn't need more of that ****...
2. download DoomBuilder
3. ???
4. profit
Otherwise get ready for some math and some, IMO, difficult D3D implementations. I think you might actually have an easier time doing something like this in Unity, but even then you'd need some programming knowledge to pull it off
i cant open them
$10 a month last I heard. That will show Unreal for charging $20 per month! Before they went free... because they can.
