GAME IS TOO LONG 0/10 [small spoilers]
this has to be one of my faforite games i ever played!
the lengh was perfect i and i enjoyed every second i had on sevastopol.
thr alien was smart but never was it unfair
every encounter with enemys was cool and challenging.
( i kid you not) i played this game for like 12 hours straight.

there were just a few things that pissed me off:
first the story and mission telling, it always felt like they were dragging it out too much, like:
"press this button to your right." while you aproach it the power turns off, and you break through the floor and its like: "oh no now you need to do 3 hour long other stuff to press that button".
2nd: the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ ending.
like srsly, all this for a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ cliffhanger???

anyway after playing through the entire thing i really wondered why it was criticized so harshly for being too long. are we really at the point where call of duty campain lengh is standard and everything above that is "too long"? besides the tons of button clicking its not like i was bored at the last few ours, hell i would even played it for another 5 hours.

so i would really like to know if other people think if this game is too long and why
and how many hours did you guys invest from start to finish in the main campaign.

also sorry for my bad english.
also normal aliens cant lay eggs right? only queens can lay eggs? so where's the queen?

The queen isn't shown because if she was shown then players would expect to fight her.

I don't know what some reviewers were thinking. It's not an RPG like "Baldur's Gate" or "Skyrim", but t's not an FPS like "Wolfenstein" or "Shadow Warrior" either where 10 hours could be considered ok. In stealth/survival horror games like this you *should* get 25 hours out of your first single run on average.

If they felt the story was not rich enough to carry 18 levels, they should not have said "the game is too long", but rather "there should have been better writing/more varied gameplay".

Edit: typos

Exactly. Saying that a game being long is a negative is total BS. COD being four to six hours for $60 is horrible value for money. Yea, I know that they are focused on mulitplayer but there used to be a time where you would get a full SP campaign as well as a great multiplayer mode. Games have been like that for so long that people don't remember when games were frequently 20-25 hours long. I like that this game was around 20 hours long, that is one of my favorite parts. I hope we see more devs take this route. By the time you make it to the end you feel like you have been through hell and back twice....and that is a great thing.

Call of Duty sets no standards for me because I don't play Call of Duty at all. I have played Battlefield and was disappointed by the extremely short single player campaign. Not worth the money. I like story-driven campaigns like Alien: Isolation or the Mass Effect series. I expect them to be at least this long in duration. Quite frankly, I can't get enough of A:I and wish I had more content.
