"An unexpected error occurred while saving the game progression"
I just got out of Seegson synthetics and the game no longer allows me to save. I replaced all my save files with spares I had on my hard drive and it still did not allow me to save.

Anyone else have this issue? I heard running the game as an administrator works, but I tried that as well with no luck.

Did you download the new Nvidia driver 344.65. This one worked. At least with my EVGA 560GTX it can be found here. http://www.guru3d.com/news-story/download-nvidia-geforce-344-60-whql-driver.html

Just updated my video drivers. No change.

that's a really weird bug, honestly i've never heard of that one before.

maybe roll back the drivers if the new ones aren't helping. 344.11 seem to be the most stable.

i was thinking it could be a corrupted save, i would have suggested reloading the previous one, or just loading an earlier mission save. but if you've replaced them all with no luck, it might not do anything.

have you looked on the official support forums? someone might know something there.

I have the same problem, but later in the game. When it goes to auto-save game from L13 to L14, I get this error, and am forced to disable saving, which makes it extra hard.

Tried all the usual stuff, and contacted support- but of course it's the usual scripted support, so no help there.

Totally stuck.

Tried all the obvious stuff, including the supposed fixes for this of setting graphics to low, and running as admin. Nothing worked.

But... I found a fix.

1) Uninstalled the game using Steam.
2) Made a copy of my 214490 game directory.
3) Deleted the entire 214490 directory.
4) Reinstall game, and run sort of new.
5) Got some weird error about saves not matching, and exit.
6) Moved only my save games back into 214490/remote.

Not sure what part of that worked, but that was the sequence I used. Hope that helps someone else.

Just came across this too, and found a resolution after about an hour and a half
If anyone, ever, in some distant future, runs into this "An unexpected error occurred while saving the game progression" you need to do the following:

- Disable Steam save sync inside Steam

- Delete saves in "[install drive]\Program Files
(x86)\Steam\userdata\user\####\214490\remote"
these saves are named "CHSV00" , "CHSV01" , delete those (but backup before deleting), because one or two of these autosave files got corrupted or has messed up modified/create date.

-Run AI as Admin

- If you get a prompt to overwrite saves in main menu, select overwrite

- launch a mission, and walk up to the nearest point and save the game TWICE, to re-populate the autosaves. This has to be done twice remember. The game relies on two save files, which it alternates (previous and current) and progression file, there is a cool down on the save points, I think it's around 60 - 90 seconds.

- if you are still getting the error, exit game and verify file integrity via Steam

- You have to re-do the progress that you lost

- Going forward, backup working save files in a folder on the desktop; do not hold folders with save data in the remote directories.

- If it is still an issue, re-install the game

For anyone that might come across this bug, make sure your WIndows Defender isn't blocking the "AI.exe" from acesing "Documents" folder. a notification should appear on your taskbar saying that it's been blocked. just allow it, and done.
