If so, then the reason they're so blurry when running the game in 720p is that the image is "streched" to fit the screen... you don't notice it so much when moving around because, well... you're moving around and many different frames are displayed in a short period of time. With text being static, you can clearly see the "stretching", and that's why it's more noticeable.
Unfortunately, this is the bane of all LCD screens, and even if the more expensive ones fare better with this "stretching" (interpolation), you can't do anything about it.
If you're referring to the in-game text on items (doors etc.) then you can bump up your anisotropic filtering (if your PC specs allow you to, although from your post I would guess that they don't).
To get a better framerate on 1080p you can tweak your graphic settings - just look here for what everything does: http://in2gpu.com/2014/10/07/alien-isolation-performance-guide/
One last thing: if you want 60 FPS for VSync to work and have a jaggies-free game, I suggest turning off VSync from the options screen and playing the game in Borderless Window (that's what I'm doing).
EDIT: I didn't read the title, oops! So, disregard the text-on-items suggestion and sorry 'bout that!
But since Alien dosent necessarily demand a 60fps playthrough due to its pace (with the exceptio of some of the shooty parts) 1080p is what I'll settle with. Ive played enough PC dark souls to get really used to 30FPS xD
Thanks for the advice though
