The climbing or saving hanging bug
Only bought the game a few days ago. Love it so far, but the weird bugs need fixing. Saving a gams or trying to climb a ladder can hang for ten minutes. I walk away a come back to see it it is finished thinking.

Otherwise everything is fine . My system is powerful. It has to be on their end.

That doesn't sound right at all. Not seen anyone else reporting this. Your PC is more than capable so it's not that. Ordinarily, loading screens last for about a second (for me they're not even long enough to read the tops), and there's no pause on ladders.

What is space like on your HDD? If it's sitting on the Windows drive and that drive is filling up, it could be that paged memory is running out of space, but that's a bit of a long shot to be honest.

I already moved lots of data off the c drive to another drive there's half a terabyte free. Previoupsly the was about 200 gigs. I also rolled back the nvidia driver, unistalled tried it and reinstalled driver. No change in the mission2 ladders or game saves. The game play and grapics is excellent. I turned off vertical sync, no change. My install of the game was same day as the nvidia update. My internet in 100mbs.

I did see otherscomplaining about similar things, saying they froze. It doesn't really freeze, but it seemed that way and I shut down a few times before Irealized it would come back after 10 minutes or so.

I should also mentioned that when I press E to clim the tall ladders, I go up a few rungs then it stops, S takes me down those rungs. So I go up again as high as it lets me, then I go make dinner, when I come back, hitting E tskes me up. These are the early ladders use in mission one and two.

Ah, for ladders you do keep having to press the forward key/button (just in case you didn't know this). If you're already doing that, ignore (reading your post, you probably are - but thought I'd mention just in case).

You have plenty of space on your HDD, so it's not that either. The freezes people refer to are complete game crashes (seems to be a random problem - I've had them too - minimising the game shows "AI has stopped working"). When these happen the game ceases completely, whereas yours seems only to be stalling. I'm running on latest nvidia drivers which, since the Alien patch a few days back, seem stable.

To be honest, I'm at a bit of a loss as to what to suggest now. You seem to have everything in order, yet the game runs well on PCs much less than yours. Is there any software running in the background that might be interfering?

I turned off extraneous programs running in background. I played fine last night, but I'm past the tall ladder. Climbing into vents has worked first time and okay. I'd have to backtrack to see if the tall ladder is still bugged. Game saving took about a minute, so a shorter delay then previously. I will just have to see what happens.
