Also there is no such thing as not seeing Alien. Does not compute.
No, and there's probably plenty who haven't seen it, it came out in 1979.
With less snark now: All your questions are answered in the movies. And I'm glad they did not repeat all that in game for the few people who played Isolation and did not watch the movies. So much exposition would have ruined the pacing and, frankly, is not necessary for the game to work.
Correct, it was Ricardo, and it's fine that they didn't explain I suppose, but it was just something that I observed.
Thank you for this information, that answers a lot of my questions that I had.
The planet you are referring to is the moon LV-426.
It is not the Xenomorph's ship. The derelict ship was from another lifeform, now known as the Engineers. The fossilized lifeform in that chair was an Engineer that was infected by an alien lifeform as it's rib cage is blown outwards.
The chair itself is the control for the ship.
This is all explained in the film Prometheus.
This was the distress/warning beacon that woke the crew of the Nostromo out of stasis. This is what you are turning off in the game. It never appeared in the film because they really didn't have time to find it before Kane got a face full of a facehugger.
You have a point here. The people who have never seen Alien wouldn't know what the life cycle of a Xenomorph is so I highly suggest to those people.....SEE THE MOVIE!
The film came out in 1979 and is still referred to this day in various forms. It's a culturally iconic film.
I cannot imagine why somebody would buy this game without having clue about the film.
Thank you for all of the information.
I saw the first film as a kid and didn't remember much of it, I don't think I saw any of the others, and the game is really good itself, so I could see people playing it without seeing the films, in fact I know of people who have never seen them and played the game.
Do them a huge favor and tell them to see the movie. If they liked the atmosphere of the game, the film will blow them away. Must watch in the dark though, not really but it helps.
Ridley Scott left the alien life cycle ambiguous in the first film. I don't count the deleted scene as canon. The life cycle was fully explained by Aliens. The egg moprhing idea is unrealistic and not plausible or believable to the audience. The hive-mind/insect-like life cycle made far more sense. If you saw the original film without that deleted scene, you would never know it's true life cycle. In fact it was Ridley Scott who originally came up with the idea of the queen. But it never came to fruition in the original.
I dont think Ive ever encountered a game that is so accurate to the source material. Quite a feat in itself.
Yes, you are correct. my bad. I was referring to the deleted scene. In that case the Xenomorphs would have been quite different in the fact that there would be no need for a queen if any of them could produce eggs. Probably why he deleted that one scene.
But more importantly I was referring to the facehugger, egg planting in the host and birth.
