Killing a Working Joe with the wrench.

There's an achievement for it. It's a really stupid achievement, and I haven't gotten it, but I have 'technically' killed a few using only the wrench. Here's why I didn't get it, so you can avoid making the same mistakes and wasting resources while you do it.

1) Don't use ANY gadgets. Smoke bombs, Flares, Flashbangs. None of these do damage, this is true, but apparently using any of these to make your life any easier is against the rules. I killed one of the Working Joes like this, but got nothing for it because I used gadgets.

2) Sneak. This is obvious. Sneaking is the only way to do it, and you can only get off two hits from directly behind before it figures out you're there and tries to grab you. After it realizes you're there, RUN. Run and hide. Leave the area. You can't hide from these guys behind a chest high wall, because Ripley's a dope and can't get lower than crouched unless she's under a desk for some silly reason.

3) It takes 8 hits. Eight hits from a wrench on hard mode will kill a Working Joe. Have plenty of medpacks ready, just in case the guy decides to grab you unfairly during your sneak attempts or see you from far beyond its normal sight radius. This does happen, and once they have you locked, unless you leave the area almost entirely or find a desk to hide under that they didn't see you get under, then forget it. It's just easier to leave after your attack.

That's really all I've got. Been trying to beat the game on hard mode right off the bat, which may explain some of the difficulty with getting the acheivement. Working Joes suck. Kill all Working Joes.

yeah I figured out something liked that too. 2 sneak hits, and than run and repeat until dead.

I found that using the shock baton and then hitting them with the wrench much easier on hard mode. I love the baton because it doesn't require stealth, but good timing on your part. It takes less than 8 hits if you use the baton first. It's still somewhat quiet too. Not good for the achievment but, it makes the job a little bit easier.

aye since I got the baton I've been using it to clear out joes I need gone, as for the achievment there is a joe on fire at the bit I'm at... he seems weak so I might try to finish him with the wrench if I can somehow make him lose sight of me though I don't know if he'll count it would be easy if he did
