Does light and dark affect the alien sight?
Or is it just related to line of sight?
Cheers

Just LOS. Shadows and card board boxes won't save you here.

Which is kinda fair, since you can see other entities, so why would they not notice you in return?

Aliens use the dark for hunt, i dont know but maybe they see way better in low light than humans. I would like hiding in the shadows but only in certain places where is very dark, not just a corner, some games use this and its funny when you are in a shadow (but by logic you are visible) with the npc at your side but doesn't notice you because you are in the "magic shadow"

IF they see at all. giger never revelead the aliens senses. its more like a sixth sense, but due to game mechanics it seems he is "spotting" you with his non-existent eyes

Alien does not even have eyes so really your flashlight and so on should not even effect anything

Gigers alien without the outer layer has a partial human skull blended into an alien skull with eye sockets. This is due to the alien having human DNA mixed in with alien, black stuff DNA and engineer DNA. They deceded to cover it so the eyes can't be seen so no point in making the eyes for the costume. They covered the eyes becasue its more creepy if you can't see where it's looking the rest of the senses are top secret because it's more scary if you dont understand how to kill it or how it finds you. CA got access to the alien 1979 storage to help with what the fans don't know.

When the game is set to hard the alien has its Ai and senses set to simulation of the Nostromo Alien. On medium or easy it has tunnel vision and maybe some unknown handicaps.

CoD players? how did they heard about this game? I thought CoD players avoid anything that didn't have explosions every 30 seconds.

In certain lighting you can see the orbitals of the skull underneith the alien's semi-transparent carapass. It's the most intreging and yet the most terrifying thing about the creature. Try to catch a peek at the alien's face under a brighter light, and you can clearly see them. The bigger question is not that it has eyes, but what kind of optical structure they are.

lol, no thanks, I was able to finish this game on hard, but the creature still terrifies me. This game really tries my resolve, but in a good way.

Exactly. IMO it's some kind of echolocation/radar completely independant from human type of vision, like in the riddick movies.
