I was just about to say the same.
When the game is set to hard the alien has its Ai and senses set to simulation of the Nostromo Alien. On medium or easy it has tunnel vision and maybe some unknown handicaps.

Exactly. IMO it's some kind of echolocation/radar completely independant from human type of vision, like in the riddick movies.
