I'm gonna have to go with that special growl sound that means, "you're fcuk'd, enjoy the panicked final seconds of your life."

The full-volume, angered shriek of the xeno right before she charges you at full speed.

Probably the sound of when the Alien emerges from a vent, it shoves fear up my ass.

I like the one that goes "swoossssssssssssssh". Hate the one that goes "cha-chaaaaa"

The Aliens scream as you burn him is also satisfying. But i think the working joe's are the best. "Running causes accidents."

I like those computers that make a kind of digital typewriter sound. Sounds a bit like the xeno gargling so freaks me out whenever i hear it.

So many to chose from, but a couple of my personal favourites from both the movie and the game (although one is only really audible in last survivor) is the sound the tubes make on the self-destruct unit as you pull them up and the sound the generators make as you start them up (the ones that require you to tap "e" 3 times)

The shoes with the rubber soles on the metal floor, when you crouch and move / strafe and look around.

This. I had never seen any of the Alien movies before I played this game, and the way Chapter 1 starts I thought I had woken up out of cryo because there was an emergency and the alien was loose on board. When I got onto the bridge I heard that noise and thought for sure it was xeno chittering. It was too early in the game for that, but I didn't know.

I believe that the sound was designed back in the first Alien movie to creep people out. Electromechanical computers really did sound like that. You can see ones built today out of relays that clack quite loudly as they switch 1s and 0s. It probably made a bit more sense in the '70s -- I think most people today have probably never heard it in their lives.

The Working Joe gargling when they're electrocuted or beaten to death.

I think my favorite line is when they say "asleep, perchance to dream" after being killed. Even in a sci-fi universe with clunky 70s technology, they still manage to slip in a Shakespeare quote. What's a bit unsettling about it is that this line in particular is that it's from someone fearing that they will still dream about their troubles even in death, giving the impression that the synthetics were approaching self-awareness.
