You could make a dlc using any of the missing persons on sevastopol and their fight for their lifes. It would get a bit stale really quick. But the marshalls Waits/Ricardo or Lingard or whatever the name of the doctor was could offer you that alternative view on / of sevastopol.
Would be cool to lay the beat down on those Joes on equal terms though. hahaha
But yeah, I doubt many people except me would want something like that. Almost every review I've read is saying "It takes soo long until you meet the Alien blabla..." Gamers do not want to give the time to develop things. It has to be action action boom boom right away for the most people.
Yes it was the same for me, I'd have gladly explored the station even further without meeting the thing. And It took me 3 hours to first meet it as it is. I was taking in the sights and measured my every step as I didn't know what to expect and when to expect it.
Yeah... I'd love that too.
That would be awesome. It's what I had in mind when I first entered Sevastopol. The place is AWESOME. I hope some sort of DLC could let us explore the whole thing without worrying about the Alien at least. (I am fine with synthetics and humans).
Still an awesome game. Finished it on hard.
Anyone that thinks it takes too long to see the Alien would hate the movie. Kane doesn't get his face hugged until 30 minutes in. Doesn't get chest bursted until 56 minutes in (this is the shorter 'director's cut' version even). The alien shows up for the first time proper at 1:07. Ripley is back in her cryotube at 1:52.
If the game took the same pace as the movie, we wouldn't be seeing the alien at all until mission 10.
Although alternatively I'd love if they kept all the AI characters in and just made them so they didn't attack you. It'd be great to wander around the station and see the alien and be like, "Hi, how's it going?" But still have the alien attack people, so you can stand back and admire the carnage.
After you have completed any mission where you can access a transit hub afterwards, the alien will be in lurking mode. You'll hear it stomping about in the vents, but in the vents it will stay, unless you make a noise. So don't run, use noisy weapons, or bump empty beer cans etc. Also, don't move to exact point where the next mission will start as indicated on your map, as this will often trigger the alien to go back into hunting mode.
If the alien stalking you from the vents still makes you nervous, even though you are perfectly safe if you make no noise, you can back track after you have completed mission 10, the alien will be 100% totally gone at this point all the way until the start of mission 14, but you won't have many tools at this point so there will still be plenty of areas that are off-limits.
At some point mid-mission 17 you'll no longer be able to back track, so do your exploring before then. As others have stated, once you get the final hacking tool upgrade at the start of mission 16 you will have all of the tools required to explore all available areas of the station.
There is always a way to explore but some transits seem to be unavailable after some missions, and then are available again. Anyway, I believe a specific exploration mode would be awesome. One in which life in Sevastopol is normal, before ♥♥♥♥ happen.
Or at least have a specific explore-the-whole-station mode freely without using exploitation, while enemies are still there, perhaps with more human enemies/friendlies, etc.
