Issue with "Just Out of Reach" achievement
Has anyone had any issue getting this achievement?

This is the achievement to contact your team and then escape the comms tower without being attacked by an android.

I ask because I just got through this section (lol yeah, I'm slow) and never got the achievement. I got into the comms without being attacked, and got out again without being attacked either.

Well, I managed to screw up once or twice and reloaded - I had saved right after contacting team, then again at the next save station...

I also did not get grabbed by the downed android either... or get killed by the alien (love hearing that hissing from the drool dribbling vents! hehehe).

So I am trying to work out why I didn't get the achievement - does reloading the game nullify the achievement? ie you have to do the whole in and out in 1 sitting without reloading & without being attacked?

You don't have to do it on first sitting. I deliberately walked to the downed android to see if he grabs me (and he did). And I loaded a few times, because the synthetics killed me. And, as you can imagine, I didn't get the achievement. But then I reloaded the mission to play it without such antics and got the achievement this time, but can't remember if I had to load a game on the second playthrough (pretty sure I did).

Thanx for the reply - but I think I worked out my mistake.

I had reloaded once getting to the room where the communication was (had been trying some silly stuff), and forgot I had actually tusseled with an android on the way in after that ;/ And hadn't reloaded as wasn't really thinking about the achievement at that time.

So I'm assuming to get the achievement you can't be attacked both on the way in and the way out (after contacting your team). As I got out without being spotted at all by the androids... but only realized after loading up to continue my last save that I had been spotted on the way in (I knew due to # of revolver bullets I had).

Oh wells. Not really fussed or bothered, just surprised I hadn't got it... till I realized/remembered I had actually been melee'ed by an android on the way in. Thems the breaks. lolz

Hmmmm I seem to be having trouble getting this to pop too, didn't think that the android attacking you from the floor would matter as it was pretty much a scripted event.

But I just escaped without being spotted and my "You'r not supposed to be there" (complete mission 4) one didn't pop either :|

I was doubtful as well.
First run I was attached by the android on the floor and I didn't get the achievement.
However, second run I avoided it and got the achievement.

I reloaded 2 times, yet I got the achievement, so you don't have to do it in one sitting. Just make sure you never get grabbed or punched by any of the androids.

Thx, will play the whole mission from scratch later then :)

I was way too curious on my way out and found a Terminal with a message from Cpt. Dallas from the Nostromo. After listening to it, 3 Androids closed in on me and I got attacked -.-

I got it and had to reload repeatedly. As the first area you get to deal with androids, I burned some time experimenting on combat with them. As long as your saves are confrontation free, you should be golden.

What mission is this one on?
Can we go back to get it after we beat the game?

This achievement is part of Mission Four. It's where you need to get into Seegson's Communications to contact your team.

And yes, you can go back to it - when you go to load a save, select the "Mission Load" option and load Mission Four. This will load the mission save the game automatically created when you started that mission. Doing that and then meeting the requirements for the achievement should give you the achievement.

So Ive been trying to get this achievement, replayed the mission twice (almost got to the end the first time but then reloaded it as I had nothing to distract the synthetics), then made my run for the final elevator and... nothing happened. I was pretty pissed and confused, until I realized that at one point I had hidden under a long table and got kicked a few times by the synthetic. Its a little cheap because even though youre deep on the other side and theres no way his shoe could physically touch you, the game still treats this as a kick and your health decreases (and so, it is an attack from a synthetic, preventing you from getting that achievement).

In a few days I will attempt to get it again. It seems that
-you can get spotted
-you cannot get attacked by a synth in any way (incl. those pretending to be inactive lying on the floor and getting "kicked" under a long table)

Got it! Stuck to what I wrote and voila.

I just got this today, completely by accident. I was being my sneakiest, taking my time. got through, got to Taylor in SciMed, saved and quit, and saw the achievement. It was enjoyable, but would have been very stressful if I was actually going for it. That's a good mission. I bloody hate androids.
