Fatal error: A graphics card supporting directx 11 was not detected
*EDIT* For ppl coming here for a solution - I went and bought a new backwards compatable graphics card. There's other helpful solutions in the comments if you need it.

Except I do have directx 11? This is a desktop running ATI Radeon HD 4300/4500?

Meeting all requirements, have tried running as admin, advanced play settings "-adaptor=1", graphics switching (lobotomy, does not work as a desktop), file verification, anti virus, graphics completely updated, the change language trick and now I'm frustrated.

Any advice?

Sorry to break it to you, but that ancient graphics card isn't a DX11 card. You might have DX11 installed, but your hardware is only DX10.1 compliant. You need a new graphics card...

Any advice? Yeah you should check the system requirements before buying a game.
Just because the OS is telling that it has DX11 doesnt mean, that the hardware would support DX11.

Uh yeah I did and it said DirectX 11, hence the pretty obvious confusion.

It would be nice for it to say somewhere "even if you have DX11 installed that doesn't mean you have DX 11 installed"

Thanks, I suppose a new upgrade could be fun.

DirectX 11 support in the hardware is either present or not, whether you have DirectX 11 installed is not relevant - two different things, I'm afraid.

I think everyone can totally see how it might be confusing, even if they pretend otherwise - but yes installing the libs does not mean you have a "DirectX 11 Graphics Card".

I am not a computer guy but i did some messing around because i was really determined to play this game and i was getting the same error. i changed some settings around and so far i have had no more problems with this game. 1) i went into my files and located where the game was downloaded, 2) right clicked the application and pulled up the same menu where you would normally click "run as admin" and i pulled up the tab "run with graphics proccessor", under this tab i opened up "change default graphics processor" and it pulled up my nvidia control panel. 3) it should automatically bring you up to the "program settings" tab and there should be an option to select a program to customize and click add. 4) just find the game application again and click it in. 5) the second step should be for you to select the preferred graphics processor what you chose, which is the game. 6) i had the option for "high preformance NVIDIA processor and chose that. after i had hit apply the game opened up perfectly which blew my mind that i actually figured something out for myself with a computer. i really hopes this helps someone :)
