Put away Flare?

Hi all, im currently playing now and i have armed my self with a flare and i dont want to use it yet but i cant work out for the life in my how to put it away so im not running around with a flare in my hand. I am playing with an xbox contorler can some one plase help me.

soon as you get revolver,equip that and bingo,revolver only comes out when using it,and yeh,the flare stays in view unfortunatly.....

Thanks for the awnser, i accidentaly found another way, when you reload the game flare is put out... thanks for my w8 BSOD haha

Either wait until you get your first weapon, or equip the Medkit (it's smaller on the screen). ;)

thanks everyone i have the revolver now :) so the flare is away

This may be a bug, but I seem to be able to reliably clear Amanda's hands by scrolling up. Or was it down? Don't remember, but mouse scroll wheel does the trick for me. Haven't modified the keybindings. I'd double check but the game now crashes when I load a save. Just completed medbay too...

That scrolls through weapons, like the Revolver, so it empties your hands, until you aim. You can't do this until you pick up the revolver several hours into the game though.

It's even worse when you have one in your hand and then you accidentally light it, you frantically press every button on the keyboard to get rid of it before realizing its the RMB + LMB, by then the Alien is looking at you with that usual big ass grin

If you're using the 360 gamepad, to deselect an item just press left or right on the D pad to put it away.
