Expendable Crew bug? (spoilers if youve not seen movie)

During expendable crew when you need to let the alien out of the airlock, it says wait for the alien to enter the airlock, thing is the alien isnt appearing at all. Its not even coming for me when i run around the area.

Anyone know a fix or if its a bug

It will get there in it own time, but if you have a distraction device it may help.

i waited for 20minutes, the light thuding of it walking in the vents was the only thing happening, i pretty much tried everything

So i assumed you went to the console and interacted with it? Did ash message you? who where you play as?

Yea i went to the console and im playing as Ellen, Ellen then said "its here with me" and i was told to evade the alien, but the alien wasnt actually in the same area as me, so i just stood there and eventually i was told the airlock is ready and to wait till the alien goes in so i can trap him in there.

But the alien never showed up in the first place so im stuck here

did the door even open up to the airlock room? might be worth playing the mission through again just to see if its a bug. but explore the area as much as possible. open all door see what happens. shame to hear your experincing this.

Yea the airlocks open, just no alien ;/ il try it again tommorow im not bothered too much since its a extremely short dlc, least it isnt the main game!

CA are generally good with patches too so no problem really

the alien never appears even making noises, running, burning everything, throwing a flare in the room. So... :X screw the end!!!

I was frustrated by this as well, here's what I found after messing around with this checkpoint for about an hour.

Very shortly after the airlock opens the alien seems scripted to explore it. If you miss this chance it seems like he will not reenter no matter how many times you beat on the wall with the wrench or toss flares, just restart the checkpoint and try again.

I found it easier if you unlock the door that is immediately to the right of the panel you used to give Ash access to the airlock. I kept my eye on the airlock by crouching behind the control panel and peeking over it through the glass to watch when the alien would enter, then sneak throuh the door on the right and you can walk straight up to the switch and hit it.

The cabinet outside the airlock just seems to be a distraction. Hope this helps anyone who was still having problems with this.

I've got to tell you. This bug is still here.
This is extremely unprofessional, and is not worth the price of the DLC.
I do not recommend buying this DLC.

It's like 10-15 minutes to get to that point. Simply restart.

Old thread, but in case this helps anyone -- I was stuck with the alien never moving into the airlock (tried maybe 10 times or more), but what finally did the trick was going into the far end of the room (actual air lock), and dropping a flare.

The next time the alien came out of the vents, rather than just hand around the room with the cabinet (where I was hiding), it went to look at the flare, which gave me enough time to exit, and hit the button.

In case anyone still has issues, all that followed was a cutscene and then it went back to the main menu, so if you are still stuck, you aren't missing all that much.

I play it on hard and the Alien never goes into the airlock. Hiding inside the cabinet near the door always get me killed. So I use your method, I flamethrow the Alien and when it left, I threw a flare into the airlock and back into hiding in the cabinet. And... it works, the Alien took the bait.
