Though I know what you mean since I had this issue with skyrim for so long.
Hi Monkey my 780ti is EXACT same as yours too, could you (and everyone else using vsync with nvidia) do me a favour and start the main game from the beginning - if you walk down the first couple of corridors you will notice they are labelled C01, C02 etc. If you face the C05 sign and strafe left and right (or walk forward but facing it and strafing is more noticable) this is where I noticed the first stutter, almost like a slight jolt and it does it here 100% of the time, as though this section is not optimized. I have spotted even more everywhere. Basically you can strafe passed corridor sign C01 - C04 as smooth as butter but C05 stutters for a split second. Surely most people must be getting this. I have tried everything inc Nvidia Vync (turning off isnt an option, I don't want tearing), graphics min to max but the slight stutters remain. If you blink you will miss them and the fps never drops below 60fps. This split second stutter is present in many areas, you will enjoy the game to the point of noticing it then It pops up all over. Maybe a driver update is needed?
Glad you noticed it, Bloody distracting and like you say, not a frame drop from 60fps. I cannot resolve it what so ever.
Hi Magic could you also try out my test above?
Ok I've just checked this (strafing back and forth around C01 to C05), there does seem to be some stuttering which is strange. I have not really noticed it any where else in the game (currently being hunted by the alien in mission 5).
Game runs perfectly smooth at 60fps with VSync on, everything maxed and 1080p

I had the same issue with The Vanishing of Ethan Carter and I found a fix so I'll take a look and see if I can fix it.
That would be great thanks. I have tried everything.
The fact that this behaved like a vsync issue meant it was likely a buffering problem and some changes to my Catalyst Control Centre were all that was needed. Seeing as you are mostly all running NVidia GPU's you likely have even better access to the setting.
Try setting Triple Buffering ON, in your NVidia control panel.
That's the setting that likely fixed mine but at the same time I did apply these so if Triple Buffering doesn't work for you then try some of these if you have them. The AA samples are overkill and you wont need that set so high as that won't make any difference to the stutter, neither will supersampling but it looks amazing :)
AA mode : Override Application settings
AA Samples : 12x
Filter : Edge Detect
AA Method : Supersampling
Morphological Filtering : On
Anisotropic Filtering Mode : Override Application
Anisotropic Filtering Level : 16x
Texture Filtering Quality : Standard
Surface Format Optimization : On
VSync : Off Unless Application Specifies (My game has it set to On)
Open GL Triple Buffering : On (NVidia will likely have a 'non open GL' Triple Buffering option)
Tessellation Mode : Override Application Settings
Maximum Tessellation : 64x
AMD CrossfireX
Frame Pacing : On
AMD CrossfireX Mode : Default
As I say, try triple buffering firstly and then if that doesn't work you can try some of the above settings.
It may be a combination of both so it's worth a try if one doesn't work.
But still I went to the game and just pressed WASD for a while and didn't notice any stutter. I also checked frametime values on MSI Afterburner and they are fine...
Not sure why you guys have this.
Windows 8.1
8GB RAM
Intel i5 4670 @ 4.4GHz
GTX 970 @ 1580MHz
The strange thing is that the micro stutter is not random, it does it at the same places 100% of the time.
I cannot confirm any stutter with AMD but if anyone using Nvidia can do this little test for me and relay any result, it would be much appreciated. You need to use vsync locked at 60fps and have good eyes. Here is a link to my thread on the Sega forums -
