Is Alien: Isolation for everyone? Perhaps not. If you demand reassurance, telegraphed threats, predictable solutions, and an inherent, hand-holding sense of ‘fairness’, you might find the experience too much to handle. But those of you brave enough--those of you tired of existing video game approximations of survival and horror, and craving a real test of your skills, instincts and nerves--will find a bounty of thrilling, engrossing, profoundly fulfilling rewards. If you truly embrace it, then during its most powerful moments, Alien: Isolation will probably make you feel more alive than a video game has in years.

Rock Paper Shotgun
Isolation is the best Alien game I’ve ever played, I’m in no doubt about that. Even in its awkward moments it is doing something interesting with the license, exploring the edges of what is possible in its world, quietly and discreetly. I expect the debate about certain design choices to be loud and long. At the centre of the debate will be one of the finest entries in the Alien canon in any medium, and one of the finest horror experiences in ours.

The Verge
This is a game that makes you feel like Sigourney Weaver in the first Alien film: scared, alone, and constantly on edge. I've never been so terrified by a game, for so long. No matter how many times I encountered the alien, I never felt comfortable in its presence.

3 bad reviews, endless positive reviews and they keep coming. I'm so glad I pre-ordered and I don't take recommendations by sites that get paid off for good scores.
Oh my god....another one of these people that can't think for themselves, i feel for you mate, i really do.

You really need to use your brain and think for youtself and stop following the crowd like a mindless drone would do.

Thanks for sharing your relief with us, it really has lifted a massive weight off my shoulders, now I can enjoy my day safe in the knowledge that you are happy and felt the need to share such important news with us...
the sheeple contest over which strangers opinion is more valid and makes them happy. lol.

Both are owned by the same company, of course they are towing the same line. Other more reputable sites are giving it much better scores. What do you expect from the cod fanboios at both sites. Not enough machine guns, invulnerability, and tight hand held corridors so you dont get lost or astonishingly actually have fun.
Gamespot and IGN, both owned by the same company gave the same sort of review. They are literally the only ones to downgrade this game (probably got rejected to be paid to write a good review). I am happy I pre-oredered, because it is gettting countless fantastic reviews.
I don't set any store by these reviews anyway, to be honest, I intend to make up my own mind.

This is why I was amused by people talking about "waiting for reviews" whilst at the same time claiming to be great independent thinkers compared to everyone else.
I no its different people who made other alien games but as seen as i have been ripped of too many times this one is for the bin later on for cheap.
^ Actually not having your own demo to judge for yourself moves curious to reviews, blocking reviews until last second, makes us not want to trust, and then this is the attitude we face, from our own fans, I tell ya, ♥♥♥♥ AAA.
Didn't gamespot give the Last of Us 8/10? lol
Who am I kidding none of it was trustworthy, not one bit, so yeah, I'll definately be looking for non-fluffed up reviews.

For me, that's all the more reason to support an Alienverse game made with care and attention to detail, with a nice profitable early purchase at full price.

Even if the game is not great, it's clear that the people who made it are fans and have been bothered to turn up for work and make a game to the best of their ability, as opposed to a certain other company that... behaved despicably.

They have obviously poured their hearts into it however it turns out, so there is no way NO WAY Aliens: Colonial Marines should make more profit from me than this game does, so I feel it worthwhile to balance it out.
