you're not a fan of alien, are you?
watch the movies. and watch the directors cut of alien 3, not the theaters version.
Watch the original Alien movie to see. It's a very different looking beast to the ones in Aliens. Much taller, much slower and more precise in it's movements, much longer legs and arms. Much more scary all round.
In the second movie they are smaller. If those marines, even with all their firepower, had to face the original Alien movie version, they would have been slaughtered.
The knee does not bend backwards. The lower leg with calf is the second digit. The third is the foot which starts at the ankle/heel spike. The fourth is the toes. I'm just saying the third digit can be toned down and a bit on the toes. I am not saying it doesn't look right standing primarily on its toes.
You can do the same by not letting your heel touch the ground. Dogs and other mammals use their toes/paws this way naturally. Birds ankles go backwards the knee is hidden higher up.
I am talking about aesthetics. It looks goofy/awkward when you stray from the golden ratio of natural formation where things look natural believable.. You don't see its feet in Alien and it didn't appear as tall in the movie compared to Isolation...just watched both movies a few hours ago.
Isolation is 3 meters/9 feet tall, looks like the xenomorph is cramped/ducking walking around. In Alien it is listed around 2.4 meters/8 feet tall, big difference in leg aesthetics for it to look natural yet still towering height.
And when I said "knee" before, I meant like "second" knee. Of course I also said it is walking on its toes, as a dog or cat does. So it's feet aren't that big, they are the same as they were in the movie
Don't get me wrong I am still looking forward to this game. The first movie doesn't show feet until the very end.....guess what, regular humanoid leg structure.
I know there are different kinds of alien...In campaign we might find out it's host was not of human origin to have strange legs like that...but it shouldn't be walking upright with those type of legs it looks wrong.
Examples of nostromo Alien. Now I prefer the Alien to be somewhere inbetween what isolation and the movie has. As you can see Nostromo Xeno does not crouch at all...this also looks a bit silly like a man in a suit, probably the reason they didn't show any leg shots in the movie. What we need is some crouch.
