No Maps on Nightmare?

So, I was expecting a much, much harder run after finishing the game on Hard when it was released. Have to say Nightmare is straight up the truth. No jokes. Lots of nope moments.

However, I would have thought that maps would be included in Nightmare. It's not like all of a sudden the mapping system wouldn't/ shouldn't work on the absolutel Hardest difficulty. Kind of annoyed is all. Is it supposed to be missing or did I just do something wrong?

I figured as much. Just seems worthless to have the map areas lit up so you can "download" them only to see nothing.

While I'm griping, would have been nice if when starting a new game all the previous "finds" of the previous games were wiped. Kind of a pain in the a$$ to have to scroll through all my "finds" to find a door code when I'm not even sure which one I had "found". Ya know? Minor gripes. Just bi74ing.

That's what I'm saying. I didn't realize that in Nightmare mode there's no maps though. The lit map areas remained lit in game but when you press "E" to get them they don't show up in TAB. Like I said, not a huge deal, and definitely not a game breaker, just would be nice to still have maps. Just because I'm in Nightmare doesn't mean my $hit doesn't work now though. It's a big place to explore.

Just came to look this up to see if i was glitched or something. I still click the map stations because im paranoid about the light from the console giving me away. But i really don't find myself ever needing or using the maps. To note I started on Nightmare so i don't even know what it's like to have them, but between the tracker objective point and the maps on the rewire terminals not having them really just seems more irritating than difficult because i kinda wanted to have them completed even if i dont use them.

You don't really need them anyway. Just use the tracker to point you in the right direction and you'll never get lost.

Dude I am playing on hard and had no idea there was a map terminal. I haven seen one yet. Are the map terminals disabled on hard also?

Nope, they're only disabled on nightmare. Well, actually, you can still see and collect data from map terminals on nightmare mode. You just can't do anything with them because the map does not function.

Map terminals just look like... square white lights on top of a kind of box. You just walk up to them and press E.

All they do is add small sections of the mission to your map before you've visited them.

They can be helfpful if you are in a locker and want to explore or have a pause to plan something out. :) The no map and the lying tracker on nightmare is great lol XD

Cool I only played hard because thats the way the "developer" intended it to be. Kinda wish I would have played nightmare now. So pressing tab does not show anything in nightmare?

It brings up the map screen and you can still check your previous logs and identity cards that you've found, but where the map should be it just says "no data available".

Try nightmare mode + unpredictable alien mod. Totally new and awesome experience.
