what is the earliest the alien can show up? (spoilers)

I once heard a rumor that the xeno can show up before his first official appearance when he kills axel, has anyone figured out a way to trigger it?

That must be a glitch. During the wait for the transit at the end of Mission 2 is the earliest it can show up normally.

apparently it's supposed to be an easter egg appearance, it's only unlocked if you look into some dark space it was hiding in for too long, supposedly it jumps out and kills you and this is before the axel death sequence or some such, maybe after, I'm not sure.

Interesting, I've never heard that. I also thought the earliest was at the Transit.
I looked into the sounds for that mission and there are a few audio tracks of someone knocking on metal, so perhaps there is some kind of secret area you can get to where someone is knocking on the wall?

well, I just encountered it right after it killed axel, just during the transit sequence, I waited in the train and it dropped down, I never pressed the "NOPE" button quite so hard in my life.

Yeah i just got killed at that part, where he eats Axel. I thought he can't show up and was hammering on walls with a wrench... then he showed up.

True, I read about how if you hang out after the transit arrives the alien will drop down from a vent. When the transit car arrived I ran in but held off on closing the doors and ending the level. I figured I had 1 maybe 2 minutes... lol no, probably 10 seconds after the transit arrived the thing popped down from a vent, never hit close doors so hard haha.

It wouldn't surprise me if there was an easter egg before the axel sequence where the alien grabs you from a darkened corner. There are some pretty dark and just all around sketchy areas in the 3? levels leading up to the transit.

Make noise when waiting for the transit, it might come.
I tried it, one time it dropped and killed me, the 2nd time I made noise it dropped when I was entering the transit and the doors closed when he charged.

i'm not sure but at the start i think you can see it and maybe it can kill you when you go into a room you turn the power on to said room a group of people start sprinting through the doors then if you wait a few seconds you can hear thud thud thud as if the alien is looking for that group and it would explain why the group started sprinting

Little bit late here, but the knocking is if you go back the way to came the people from the last mission are knocking on the door after you ran away
