There happy?
Except he didn't. Gorman had no idea what the Alien is, and what he's capable of at the time other than what Ripley told him, and Ripley didn't 'know' about the "taking the host's DNA" thing either simply because it didn't even exist at the time as Alien lore. Aliens didn't "take DNA from hosts" up until the third film. The original Xenomorph as well as the 'Aliens' Xenomorph have nothing in common with their human hosts.
Xenomorph is a term used in geology. It means strange form ("Alien") and is used to describe a strange developmental stage of minerals. It is sometimes used in other fields as well, for example Xenophobia means the fear of strangers.
When Gorman says that "A Xenomorph may be involved" in the Hadley's Hope incident, he mearly means that there might be some type of Alien there.
Don't suppose anyone listened to the weyland guys in ALIENS, these creatures had not yet been surveyed.
Following cannon the drine strain seen in ALIEN is referred to as Xenomorph XX121.
For those who bothered to watch Resurrection the study of xenos always ended up with catastrophic failure and with WY trying to do research on them I doubt they will provide a "proper" species name as most creatures are named derivatevs from languages native to where the creatures where found or commonly from Latin names which are usually based off attributes of what the thing is / looks like.
Frankly it's pointless to give the grown xeno a species name as it would seem they are manufactured rather than eveolved as Prometheus shows us that the black goo infects whatever species is chosen as a host and then takes form from there on.
So in ALIEN's case it's a humanoid form aka bipedal.
Pretty sure the next movie in the time line will show us that David is going to infect a crew with the strain and creat the Xenos we know of currently and at some point they will evolve on some rock and have their own evolution cycle.
We just need to know one thing - Where they are !
The human skull is actually part of the original design. It is just a lot harder to notice in the movie than it is in the game.
The Alien doesn't really have eyes by design. Geiger mentioned that he thought it would make the Alien scarier (and it did). There has been tons of theory on how the Alien actually senses its prey, but nothing official.
...
They hear. That's why you don't RUN in the game and there's a noise maker.
