Alien: Isolation

Alien: Isolation

Statistiche:
MacBook Pro performance
So, forgive my ignorance, but lists of specs to me are basically hieroglyphics.

I mostly dip in and out of old games – Half Life 2, Portal 2, old Grand Theft Auto titles – and run Steam on my MacBook Pro, with the following specs:

MacBook Pro (15-inch, Mid 2012)
2.3 GHz Intel Core i7
16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Intel HD Graphics 4000 1536 MB

As you can see, I've got it packed full of RAM, because I'm a designer and hate having slow running Adobe apps. But I don't have a clue how good my graphics card is.

So, how is Alien: Isolation running on the Mac port, and do I stand any chance of getting it running on my Mid 2012 MacBook Pro!?

it does not start on my macbook pro 2015 AMD either. It is realy poor port.

There are many users playing just fine on your hardware and we also tested the game using an AMD MacBookPro so it's likely something with your Mac that once fixed will allow you to play.

I could contact our support team so we can help look into the issue.
I'm testing on Imac 2013 with Iris Pro integrated card only: In bootcamp partition under Windows 10 works like a charm at also max setting.... when running under osx natively, very laggy and poor graphic performance also at very low settings. Imho is very bad optimised, i hope for an update as soon as possible.
mid-2012 15" mbp here and other than slightly laggy animation on loading screens it works just fine for me :B1:
HAHAHHAHAH, this is why Macintosh fail. You pay $3000 for a macbook pro and it comes with integrated graphics... FAIL

i spend $800 on a HP pavilion 4gb system ram, with i7 @ 2.6ghz and Nvidia Gt 840m 2gb memory, runs isolation maxed out. with anti aliasing turned off respectively.

Please make sure you lower the resolution, resolution effects performance more than other settings in Alien. If you still have issues with lowered resolutions please contact Feral support.
so can somone tell me......exactly if it does in fact!!! run on macbook pro!!! cause i HEARD THIS GAME cant run on mac...unless you have intel iris pro!!!!!!!! /;

i have 2.5 GHz intel core...and 8 gigs
It depends also on your graphic card. If you've got a model with 512mb only, it may be not enough

It should be fine. I have a early 2013 Macbook Pro with Retina display - Intel HD 4000, just like yours, but with less RAM and less memory on the graphics card - and it runs pretty well.

I haven't tried cranking up the graphics to a higher resolution (I think currently I'm running it at about 1152x720), because I know that probably won't end well, but it's playable at least.
13" Retina MacBook Pro 2014 here. Mine has the bog standard i5, 128GB SSD, Iris Pro graphics, and the 16GB RAM upgrade; I run all my Mac Steam games off a USB 3.0 external drive. Performance-wise, it's noticeably slower than the i7 Lenovo Y580 with a 2GB nVidia card I also own (duh), but lowering the resolution to 1280x800 and turning off some of the higher-grade effects gave me decent playable fps.

tl;dr: As long as you have a recent MacBook Pro, you should be fine :) .

[Frankly, as long as you aren't a fps-obsessive -- and can live without playing Witcher 3 -- the current range of Macs make perfectly serviceable computers for gaming. To those naysayers out there, I say :P .]
So is it playable on the MacBook Pro 15" mid 2015 with dedicated ATI R9 Graphics? I won't pay for this game and then can't play it... Its even available at the Mac App Store. What do you think would be the better place to buy?

Yes, as per the min and recommend spec it works just fine on that MacBookPro. You can buy and play the game using either store although the Mac App Store does sometimes have install problems on larger games so if you might need to download the game over an extended period Steam will likely be more reliable but the choice is yours :)
