MacBook Pro performance
So, forgive my ignorance, but lists of specs to me are basically hieroglyphics.

I mostly dip in and out of old games – Half Life 2, Portal 2, old Grand Theft Auto titles – and run Steam on my MacBook Pro, with the following specs:

MacBook Pro (15-inch, Mid 2012)
2.3 GHz Intel Core i7
16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Intel HD Graphics 4000 1536 MB

As you can see, I've got it packed full of RAM, because I'm a designer and hate having slow running Adobe apps. But I don't have a clue how good my graphics card is.

So, how is Alien: Isolation running on the Mac port, and do I stand any chance of getting it running on my Mid 2012 MacBook Pro!?

intel hd 4000..... according to https://www.gamingonlinux.com/articles/alien-isolation-released-for-linux-prepare-your-spare-pants-port-report-review-sale.6131 not even a GTX 560 Ti can run it acceptably (which is far better than your card). Keep in mind that mac and linux ports are also very similar!!!

I guessed it probably wasn't going to be up to scratch, thanks for confirming!

Here's a weird thing – just checked my specs in About This Mac again, and the graphics card has changed:

MacBook Pro (15-inch, Mid 2012)
2.3 GHz Intel Core i7
16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M 512 MB

So like rudicbr I'd be interested if this makes any difference.

If it's a year or two+ Mac of any kind you're pretty much safe at assuming newly released games won't run on it.

Mac's, Mac Pro's and Macbook's of any kind aren't made for gaming at all. This isn't hating but pretty much stating Mac's don't even bother to play a role in. Infact Apple have pretty much abandoned all engagement in the PC gaming world even on their €3.5k Mac Pros.

The graphics card hasn't changed -- you have two of them (integrated and dedicated).
I have the slightly newer MBP with the 750M 2048 MB, and when it first arrived, I thought Apple sent me the wrong spec ;-)

Basically, the Overview will show you the Intel Iris (integrated), and devling deeper into Hardware > Graphics/Displays you'll have the two listed.

I'm downloading the game now on MacOS now to see how it performs. I'll report back here. I'll probably install on Bootcamp to have full Steam Controller support and compare it to how it runs in MacOS.

I've got a macbook pro mid 2012, i7 2,6ghtz, Ram 8 gb, SDD + DD, NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M 1024 Mo.

I think the game should run ok but i have not managed to make it work, it freezes during the creation of the game. Hope the bug gets solved. And i will give more details after. I have also windows 10 on my computer but i prefer to use the mac version if possible. Don't like to resart my computer when i want to play.

Same for me... didn't buy the game yet...
want to be sure if it's playable (worst case on bootcamp WIN10).
Did you installing it in Win10? Have the same Macbook Pro... would help me out..

I've got Macbook Pro late 2013, i7, 2,6 Ghz, 16 GB Ram,NVIDIA Geforce GT 750M 2 GB. The Game won't start! It just stucks at the loading screen and it loads forever without getting into the game. Now I'm trying it via Bootcamp but thats not what I prefer. I want to play the game on OSX. Does anyone know more about tis issue?

Sadly your hardware is well below the minimum specification required to run the title.

They tested on 1080p if you drop your resolution a little you'll gain a lot of fps as this game is very sensitive to resolution and less so to graphics settings.

Yes, you are fully supported.

We have played 100+ hours on that laptop in test and others are playing so it just sounds like a setup issue. Had you contacted Feral support?

Have you contacted Feral support? Please do with details of exactly what happens during the loading sequence and we can investigate.

I managed to make the game work when i re installed the game on my main hard drive and not on the second hard drive that i've put in place of my dvd player. Graphism is quite nice, i've just played the intro, but everything seem to work fine.
