Alien Isolation on sale - better wait?
Very tempted to buy it, but according to Steamsalestracker the lowest offer was -75% off. That and the upcomming Halloween sale in mind, I think I hold my horses for now.

What do you guys think? Is it reasonable to assume this will go way lower in a few weeks?

That 75% off probably wasn't the actual STEAM price. I'm fairly certain steamsalestracker keeps track of games tied to STEAM and shows the lowest price from any seller(G2A, GMG, retail, Amazon or otherwise).

Are you sure about that? I always thought this site was strictly for Steam prices.

Yeah, i'm pretty sure unless i'm thinking of another site that tracks steam game prices. I'm sure there's more than one site to do it so it's possible.

It's currently 75% off on gamersgate which usually gives a steam key

Looks like it's gone from Gamersgate? But it's 75% off here: http://getgamesgo.com/product/aliens-isolation

Code EGL gets you 5% off.

Alien: Isolation is awesome and probably the scariest game ever created. Only you can decide whether to buy it now or wait for a sale.

It's such a good game that you'll regert buying it on sale.

The Nostromo version is available on G2a. Is that version better?

But very short and lacks replayability, right? That's what I've gotten from reviews and stuff. |:

I must have read different reviews. If anything, the game is too long.

It depends how quickly you play. If you use stealth and hide a lot (which you really have to) then you're looking at around 20 hours (maybe more if you're really bad at it lol).

I've played for around 45 hours and am just about to start a fresh new game and play again. It's so good that it never gets boring. The AI (alien, androids and human enemies) are all unscripted except for a very tiny few parts, so different encounters will happen every time.

There are some good mods out there that add a lot of variability out there to the Alien. I merged the Life Savers Mod (ModDb.com), Unpredictable Alien (ModDb.com), and using the Steam Community Modding guide (Guides) I even made the Smoke Grenade and Flash Bang scare the Alien away to make them more useful.

The difference is that the Alien is way more unpredictable but it feel more realistic - The Alien no longer feels like it is in a 100 meter tether but takes breaks, goes after other sounds, but once it knows you are there (flashlight, combat, or noise) it really comes after you.

But since the Flash Bang, Stun Gun, and Smoke Grenads work against the Alien it means you can resist it a little (about 6-10 seconds) to make a break and get away from it.

All in all a lot more fun. I think you should get the game and play it Vanilla to get a feel for how the developers wanted it to be experience. Then go grab those mods and get a much more dynamic feel to the game. This will be my 2nd play through (I love scary games in October) and it's a blast.

Hope on in - the water's great.
