This is the right place, Mplayer was way better than Steam will ever be.
Mplayer 1999 was awesome with its features.
And because AvP 1999 was on there, it's also in the same universe.
Also I believe Alien: Isolation, even if it could have been better, was good for what it was, and all the Aliens games should go on Mplayer.
Others should know about it, especially since this is the latest Aliens game so far, and so it is the right place, especially for old fans that were on Mplayer 1999 with AvP 1999, they know what I'm talking about.
Yeah I've been waiting too many years as well my friend. =)
It's not a remake though, they are using the original Mplayer 1999 software, just modifying it to work right with new computers and making sure everything syncs, and will be stable.
I've even reinstalled the old app a few times myself to check out, just so that memories didn't have to be the only thing to experience it.
Though.. I get the same results as the other guy with the old Mplayer 1999 service video that I have at the top in the thread's topic.
I really want this to happen so much.
Btw don't forget to send them a message at the bottom of the site at. -
http://www.mplayer.co
And click on the kickstarter link.
This is why you should post this on the AvP Classic 2000 forum - not this forum. You posted a multiplayer client commercial on a single player only game forum that is in no way featured in said client. Alien:Isolation has nothing to do with Mplayer; this is the wrong place for your post.
Mplayer is not just for multiplayer, you could play single player games on there, I would rather have Mplayer than Steam any day.
And also I was on Mplayer in those days so I should know, I'm not new to it by any means.
Yes it will be great for multiplayer, but it can be for both singleplayer and multiplayer, so who cares? Even if it was for just multiplayer, oh well? Big deal? Why make something huge out of it? What is it to you? Are you paid to say that?
So, your opinion I feel is wrong.
The AvP classic 2000 forum was a place I had plans to show it next in, but it easily justifies how others should know here as well, do you deny that others here don't look on the AvP 2000 Classic forum, and vice versa?
So indeed without further more to be said, it comes down to an opinion on your part.
Stop throwing opinions at me, I really don't care?
Btw the thread said Positive Feedback Only, that to me isn't very positive, it's harassment.
Which means if you don't like it, don't comment in here.
If you don't like others getting the word out, don't bother with your opinion.
Btw with the comments already in this thread, it's not easily changed and transfered over to AvP Classic 2000. I would make the same thread with just a link to the AvP Classic 2000 forum and place everything there, but a bit late for that.
Also, I would enjoy a new game like AvP 1999, why would I want to bother with AvP 2000 Classic that only came to steam so many years later as what feels like a marketing scheme? No way!
And I feel all.. let me repeat that.. "all"! Aliens games should go to Mplayer just as mentioned before, to celebrate not just AvP 1999 the game, but the aliens series and the place where all the fans were at that time, it makes perfect sense. Why not?! Why wouldn't you want them there? Have you ever been on there before? I have! Steam bends over compared to Mplayer.
Yeah it does, but their kickstarter page is bothering me right now.
Getting a 404 error, didn't even know they had a kickstarter.
I sure hope this happends, because it's been too long of a wait, since my teen years.
I feel like working on the Alien 3 fan game demo project right now..
I've already got a multiplayer super generic that doesn't sync well.. Alien 3 alpha room, extremely early development, has aliens that can blow up on either screen.
It has 2 different characters, one of Ellen Ripley and some other marine, for 2 players Co - Op.
Took me about anywhere from a few hours to a day to make using the program's multiplayer netcode.. though the bullets and some other things don't work well in it, I might make it single player, as the Alien a.i. works, 2 of the same drone, one that walks and the other crouches, they can be shot, blown up just like the original Alien3 game on the Sega Genesis, and I've got the Level Guardian Boss made, doesn't do much yet except walks around.
Yes the Aliens speed up, when you get closer to them, and they make the exploding sounds.
There's no background yet, it was just a test, but might change it into singleplayer.
Here's a link to some other programming projects I'm working on.
Scroll down in that link to the comments, to find a download for a Life Force: Brain Golem Boss demo I made, and other info.

Edit: I just got a confirmation from the Mplayer team that the 404 error is the result of Kickstarter not showing projects until they are live.
They have been approved by Kickstarter and will be live near the end of this month.
Hmm interesting, I've been invited by Square Enix to a Piano Opera.
Music from, Final Fantasy, in the USA.
This thread is as relevant to Alien Isolation as is the one about "AMD motherboards", also one of yours. Lol. If you need some pointers where to post all this stuff, just ask. It sure as hell is not here and if the forum was properly moderated your posts would have already been either moved or locked.
That's fine. Still doesn't make your post relevant to this forum.
Cool story, but I didn't state an opinion. I stated a fact. Your post is positively, objectively, factually irrelevant to this forum because Alien: Isolation has nothing to do with Mplayer.
If they look there, they would've seen your post, which is where it belongs.
I don't think you understand what the word 'opinion' means...
I don't think you understand what the word 'harassment' means...
Again with that word you don't understand.
It's the same game...
See? THIS is an opinion.
Your opinion about them seeing my post well, it would have been better here, not there.
Rather it was here or there, it's still going to be seen, it is the right place for it.
Alien: Isolation is playable, you haven't come to terms to play the game yet, then you should, but no one said it had to be multiplayer, only a troll would make such a statement without realising the actual meaning behind what was said.
I don't think you understand the word opinion either, considering most of what you said was an opinion. And I don't think you understand harassment either, or maybe you do because you're a troll.
AvP 1999 and AvP 2000 Classic came out many years later, around a decade, and it was released on steam as mentioned, I noticed you are ignoring a lot of what I've had to say.
Also it wasn't an opinion, it was a fact about all the Aliens games should go to Mplayer, as they belong there, not in Steam. The best Gaming Service and only one Aliens game? You have to be joking now. Again I don't care if you think it's multiplayer only for the Service.
Not only is it the best, it was known about long ago before this new version of Mplayer.
As long as it doesn't become a marketing scheme because of today's Gaming Services, like Steam, and other places, then it should be just as awesome as before.
Even if the new Mplayer doesn't allow some of the other Aliens games, doesn't mean it's not a fact of where they belong. Definitely not on Steam, that's not an opinion, sorry, it's not, unless someone is sucking up to Steam/Valve as a fan, then they might see it as an opinion. But no matter how it's seen, it is a fact, just look at Mplayer from the past, and tell me I'm so wrong? Because I'm not wrong about that, rather the games go there.. or not.
If not then well, doesn't change anything, it's still a fact of where great games belong, the service was even better than some of the games today, for many reasons.
But respect should be given to the Aliens, Colonial Space Marine, and Predator fans, as to where the aliens games should go, and it's going to be where they want to hang out the most, in Mplayer.
Again if Mplayer is going to be as good as it was, without the marketing schemes of todays Gaming Services. Even if that happend, there's others that could get something going on for Mplayer later on.
Why should I have to explain any of this? Unless you have no clue and never experienced Mplayer before, them I'm wasting my time with you.
You also haven't figured out when I said, don't bother posting because I don't care about your power tripping ego.
And your negative comments are irrelevant to my thread topic, not useful, move on.
You want to be negative and start flames? Go find your real dad so I don't have to be one.
You're also very annoying, I've learned to ignore trolls these days.
Welcome to block.
That's sure funny, most that have posted survey requests for their University, have got away with it in their own threads early when this game was released, how relevant was that? And it wasn't moved or locked. That's about as relevant to Aliens as a rock to a monitor screen.
Mplayer is very relevant to Aliens, consider the fact AvP 1999 is a part of that universe.
And both were the biggest thing to happen to the Alien series.
Not worth defending this forum anymore, it's old, move on from it.
In fact, I supported this forum in the same way you are about some others with their University as explained, but it does not matter anymore, there's not even support for the game now since they decided not to release any more patches.
It is clearly time to move on and wait for the next Aliens movie and game.
Mplayer is just that before the new Aliens, Predator, and Terminator movies come out, and when you're on Mplayer, I doubt you're going to look back at this and care.
Oh I was working on something for an Aliens fan project, or Alien 3, my other reply explains it. =)
