The lights shining on her at the end I think is the Torrens looking for her.
That's what I think.
Quite frankly, it came off like a cheap jumpscare with little logical reason behind it.
It did seem odd that you kept your suit on and that the Alien slowly went at you rather than killing you quickly like the rest of the game.
A dream is a nice imagination to me. Maybe the glimmer of light comes from a flashligh from Verlaine that makes her awake. That would be a more positive ending and not totally unlikely cause the last scene was a bit surrealistic.
Verlaine tells Amanda that she set the airlock on auto so that Amanda could get in once she's done destroying the docking clamp. It is implied that an Alien got on board of the Torrens the same way Amanda did.
That said, I completely agree that "mission 19" (and the latter half of mission 18) were poorly designed and should've probably been edited out.
Could be so. When you are walking on the bridge above the airlock, it opens and shuts constantly.
The aliens can survive in space - this is a known thing. You can see them happily walking all over Sevastopol when you're outside in your EVA suit. I think one of them jumped from Sevastopol to The Torrens.
Verlaine and her crew are waiting for Ripley to board in her EVA suit. If they heard bumping outside, they may have assumed it was her and opened the airlock, only for an alien to get inside.
Wut?
