Somehow a return to the original 1979, at least that's the vibe.

If it keeps the tone of Prometheus and Covenant then count me in cause this look visually stunning and very gritty

I'm just perplexed by the tag 'Romulus' which was the legendary founder and first king of Rome and wondering what the hell is the association with Alien going to be - is it the first King of Alien or the Android aligned to Alien?

The timeline places it between Alien and Aliens (1986) - a group of young space colonisers as they go scavenging on a derelict space station. Also this film is directed by Fede Álvarez and
Ridley Scott-approved franchise. So Ridley Scott isn't directing it.

I'm just perplexed by the tag 'Romulus' which was the legendary founder and first king of Rome and wondering what the hell is the association with Alien going to be - is it the first King of Alien or the Android aligned to Alien?

The timeline places it between Alien and Alien 3 - a group of young space colonisers as they go scavenging on a derelict space station. Also this film is directed by Fede Álvarez and

Supposedly the space station they're on consists of two parts, one part that has old outdated tech and design (Remus) and a newer part that was added with tech closer to whats in Aliens (Romulus).

"Is the meaning behind the name Romulus explored in the film?

It is, absolutely. It’s based on the Romulus and Remus myth. If people aren’t familiar, it’s the creation myth of Rome. Romulus killed Remus. It’s not a siblinghood that went down the right path. [Alien: Romulus] is a film about siblinghood. A lot of the character stories are related to siblinghood.

As you may know, Weyland-Yutani, which is the big company in the Alien movies, has this obsession with Rome and Imperialist iconography. You really have to go deep into the canon, but a lot of the planets, and a lot of names come out of the early Roman Empire, either from rivers or cities.

And there’s a station where most of the story takes place. It’s called the Renaissance Station, and it’s made of two big models that are connected. One is Remus, the other one is Romulus. And that’s as much as I can tell you…"

Oh! so the name is related to the space Station, that squares it though reading from your comments I had the impression of Romulus been the Alien and Remus been the Android (or viceversa).

I just saw that director mentioned that Romulus has a deeper meannig it seems that all characters will be related in pairs so their relations will be developed through the story.

Mmm putting woman and brown people inside any movie, doesn't mean at all that it must be to sell woke ♥♥♥♥, do you know that?

I know that in this case Disney is behind, and that is concerning, but if the people behind the movie has two brain cells they can introduce such characters without selling ♥♥♥♥. With lucky in this case Disney just put one condition like putting a female and a brown guy... but how can be that a problem when we have exactly that since first movie??? If the actors can make us belive that they are there that is what it must count... if I see a princess or a gay person trying to convince me that that is enought to kill an alien then I will agree with you. But I didn't see nothing on the trailer to think that this movie will sell such crap.

(And by the way people, I am gay so please don't say me ♥♥♥♥ because I am really against this woke/propaganda ♥♥♥♥ as well).

Predator is a franchise that I never liked but I liked the last movie, while the protagonist... is moving in a woke terrain, the actress was good enought for me to take her seriously. I guess that this new Alien movie will not scape compleatly from the Disney agenda neither but if that ♥♥♥♥ is put aside quickly that may be enought. I mean I can't blame directors and guionists and actors because Disney crap but I understand that they are forced by contract to who knows what. WIth Ridley behind the production I really hope that the woke crap will be at minimum levels.

Maybe in this case Disney will be satisfied just by doing something that was done in practically all movies before.

I have no real faith in modern cinema, but I find myself cautiously optimistic about this. From what I understand they've really gone to town on the practical effects. Anamatronics, puppetry and the alien is even a guy in a suit again apparently.

It seems to be a return to the horror roots with a lore friendly environment, so I can't help but feel a little excited (which I'll probably regret).

I wish I had that much optimism.
animatronics seems like a lost art. not at all confident that anyone in the modern age will do it very well.
please please please just let it not be complete trash

just remember this is fox operating under disney producing this flick. its going to push woke crap in there any way they can.
