Possible fix for the floating light bug in the Transit Station?
https://i.imgur.com/JNmh3gR.jpg

It's not a deal breaker but every time I look into the transit gates I saw these lights floating in mid-air and they are getting more and more distracting. These are obviously the interior lights from the transit car, somehow they stay in place instead of moving along with the car as it should've.

So far I've tried: Reload the save, Restart the game, Reinstall the game, Restart the entire playthrough with a new save file, lower the FPS back to 60 and then retry all of the above. Still no luck.

I'm not the only one who encounters this bug, and strangely it seems to happen only on PC. I've played this game before on PS4 back in 2014 and didn't have this bug back then.

it appears random objects in general can be stuck floating midair for no apparent reason. In M3 there was just a bunch of pistols floating everywhere for no reason.

There's no pistols floating in my game, only the transit lights which really bugs me (no pun intended)

yeah, it isn't always pistols- though the persistent transit lights is kind of weird.

For what it's worth I see more of these bugs when i switch antialiasing mode to FXAA and the ambient occlusion to whatever the highest is. For whatever odd reason those two settings seem to increase the frequency i see the floating objects bug.

one time it was ripley's wrench, floating mid air, and on the top layer of the game visuals so i saw it through every wall at a consistent size. It was rendering the first person wrench just somewhere in the worldspace for some reason.

There're a lot of small visual bugs in this game, sometimes they stick around and don't go away. I guess it's the price we pay for higher FPS and more responsive controls (and imo better looking button prompts compared to console version, something about those green letters just really fits this game's aesthetic)

honestly i think the visual bugs are probably a symptom of the development time being sort of restricted. IIRC they had to cut quite a few things from the game due to time constraints and mainly placed their focus on developing the Alien AI

though, in recent years, people have been able to crack this game open and mod it pretty extensively, so I imagine somebody will eventually fix those sorts of bugs

I had also the floating pistols in M3 in the past, but it was only one pistol in a specific area in the second floor where you need to get past the NPCs.
Yesterday, I had a similar but weirder bug.
While using the key card to save progress, I noticed a weird object attached to the key card, and after saving, I found this object is nothing but a droid eyes and it became floating on the air!
Why did it attach to the key card?!!!
Had to reload to get rid of the bug because it was happening every time I save.
