Alien: Isolation 2, when?

This game was such a gem. And I think it did pretty good in terms of sales too. I hope the devs are working on a sequel.

It could be a good game, but I imagine most people will be wishing it was something else.

Just take a research station or mining colony, some random civilians and the military or officials f*cking up to repeat the Alien: Isolation formula of "Everyone is scared and trying to survive.". Just make it with multiple survivors this time that each start at different areas, with the campaign making you switch to another survivor at a certain progress point, with some of them meeting in person, other only via coms, others never and each getting their own areas with access to - should they survive long enough to make it that far (early death possible after some basic progress was made that's necessary for the sake of the story). More object interaction and use of environment / equipement would be nice. The wall terminals were mostly bad except for air purification and toggling power on / off for access to areas. The Alien could learn some new tricks too: Waiting behind a closed door without moving, not visible on the motion trackers, moving along walls, jumping from point A to B, breaking stuff to deny you progress (until repaired / reset), clawing through weak doors.

I remember this Game it was rly good and the Multiplayer also, have it on an older steam account but the email doesnt exist anymore and I never got this Acc. back..

It's still on sale on steam though, and with the summer sale just a few minutes away you can get it for a coffee

its for 22 € in Europe.
but the other Problem is to find a Multiplayer Game as I see in the Comments, there is no dedicated Server so you have to add the last 4 Players as Friends to play, haha

First game where i am scared most of the time, and rush the objectif due to the pressure. I only did 1/4 of the game but, i don't think i will be used to the Alien during my first run.

It's such a good game and I am proud of every step i succeed. I am easily scared but here it's at another level, i would buy a lot of games like that.

I think it will never happen, firstly because there is no way to make a sequel without messing up things we saw in the OG movies, secondly because there is no more room for games like this

Tea leaves don't look good. The game's had a great legacy but it didn't sell great on release; most of the original team doesn't work at Creative Assembly and the studio is working on a shooter on a new IP anyway; the Alien IP was bought out by Disney in 2019 with 20th Century Studios, so there are no working relationships to rely on there. The only positive news is some speculation/leaks that Disney was shopping the idea around to studios, but there hasn't been any follow-up on that in over a year. Any of those factors individually would dampen the game's chances, but taken together they equal development hell.

Not an expert at the alien game's ownership side anymore, but look likes there is a chance, just not a good one. Aliens fire team did give a big nod to this game, however boils down to it looks like new renters are trying to milk the franchise due to Sega lost the licence.

So have to ask 3 questions.
1) Are the alien games that just been made, making money?
2) Are stealth games coming back?
3) Does Sega haves it hooks in that propriety?

1 looks like no, and 2 looks like maybe. Ironically Alien the movie would never have seen the light of day if not the fact that everyone had to make a space movie after star wars. 3 is a don't know, cause I assumed they would have first tried an AVP game (the most established game series) by now if they did, but more likly could be Alien and Predator where broken up before auctioned off or they just wanted to try different things.

Also I assume that if it does not come out next year, IF it is being made, it could get canceled.

That being said, looking at the other games, I would say that's a good thing. Sega was likely paying low rent to keep the rights, Mickey walked in, said the rent is up by a factor of 10, pay or we will get someone who will. They found someone else.

Now to pay the new rent, expect the game to start digging in your pocket. Throw that on a stealth game, something practically single player. Well I don't want to think of how they would try to hook whales and get them to pay $1k$ on that type of game. So better Dead for me. This was a work of love, not labor. Best thing that I can hope for is some Modder makes a whole new game out of this game.

That being said, I have not looked to deeply, however these are the real research points I would start to look at. If I am wrong, then clearly My assumption was wrong off the out dated data I have.

Nobody has been able to take full advantage of this francise, the only decent title is Isolation and they could have made it better, but that's okay even if it has limitations.
The biggest problem is that this francise is being developed by too many different houses, but it all comes down to simple shooters rather than exploiting the story and building something decent on it.
Now this Aliens Dark Descent comes out, a mere copy of Gears Tactics, also a simple shooter, shoot, kill, end and also developed by another company, none are ever the same and this is the downfall of the francise .
A francise like this, if I'm to stick to the Aliens series movies, would have to go into the hands of companies similar to Naugty Dogs (The Last of Us) or the creators of Horizon Zero Dawn, someone who can create a great single player story, yet Disney has the money to be able to afford something better to give to fans, but what I see is just an attachment to money, creating useless and different versions, Fireteam also a simple shooter where to kill hordes, repetitive boring and meaningless.
No one has managed to create a worthy singleplayer campaign apart Isolation, too simple to create shooter game mechanics copied from other titles and without meaning.
All these titles just a bunch of junk suitable for COD players etc ....

Nope I think, but if someone finally decided to make a sequel, I hope it can be similar to Alien:Resurrection. That game was one of the best horror FPS game from Playstation 1 era. (Or maybe they can remake it with modern graphics, I think many people will still enjoy it).
