Is my laptop suitable to run this game?
i bought the game and it was really slow and laggy, even the startup logos. I'm not a pc expert so i don't know any complicated computer terms but my specs are:

Windows 11
Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-1035G1 CPU @ 1.00GHz 1.19 GHz
Installed RAM 8.00 GB (7.79 GB usable)
GPU: Intel(R) UHD

is it just the game or me? because i'm able to run most games released before 2014 just fine. the only other 2014 game i have is wolfenstein the new order and that game gets pretty rough framerate wise. Anything after 2014 my laptop defintely can't handle. Thanks

It's a hit/miss. On my laptop, I can run Farcry 2 no problem, and my laptop isn't made for gaming. Go figure.

tbh i'm not sure what defines a "laptop for gaming". I can handle games released in the ps3 era but not the recent era

You really need to have at least an Nvidia GPU to be able to play most modern games properly, including Alien Isolation. Having said that I did get it working in a playable state on one of my earlier laptops which had a lesser GPU, but maybe because that had an i7 core. It was still a bit sluggish though (running felt slower than walking).

You can run Isolation on a calculator. I've seen a video on Youtube of some guy running it on a potato with no graphics card and 2 GB of RAM and he still actually got a decent frame rate. Windows 11 might be a problem though. I don't know how W11 will affect things.

How do it do that? Do I need to go to the store and get Nvidia gpu? I thought I heard somewhere that you cant change graphic drivers on laptops but that might have been a mishearing

Tbh I see people who say alien isolation runs on a potato but at the same time I hear other people stating it requires more than that and like a good gpu

Yeah it might be Windows 11 causing it to be more demanding, I don't know anything about W11 tbh. Did you try those tips in the video someone linked for you? Did you try turning the graphics down and all those types of things?

I really don't think it's windows 11? And yes i tried what the person in the video said and turned all the graphics down, everything, but the 20th century logo and main menu lags like hell. I'm not knowledgable about specs at all so may i request you compare my specs with the minimum specs the game requires?

Your RAM is fine but everything else is a little below minimum. Unfortunately you might just not be able to play it :steamsad:

well that's a shame. i kinda assumed i would be able to run it cause its also on ps3. is this game just a lot more graphically demanding than most other 2014 games?
