Its a xenomorph it wont get affected by a mere electric shock
It's because where you're supposed to go is not clear. For most people it's not immediately apparent that where you're supposed to go is where those 4 guys with guns just came from. It's also not the immediate instinct for people to go upstairs where 4 armed people are when all you have is a wrench. Also if you're playing on hard like the game suggests they see you quick and kill you quicker. Also the game puts a rewire box there to make players think the correct course of action is to use the rewire things to distract them, when in reality the rewire boxes are some of the most useless things in the game that are always a waste of time unless they open a door required to progress in the story. Also a lot of players don't know that the 4 human enemies will quit following you once you go through the door you're supposed to go through, so they assume you'll just have to kill them.
There's lots of reasons why people struggle with this part. Basically it comes down to poor game design. It's a poorly designed stealth section because stealth gets you killed. The most efficient and safe way to get through it is to go up the same stairs they come down (something most gamers' instincts tell them not to do) and then run like hell to the door. So people crouch down, try to hide, try to be smart, and ultimately get wasted over and over again using stealth when you're really supposed to just... not use stealth.

Yes , once I got the tuner, I made the mistake of exiting the waiting room rather than going up the stairs. They were so difficult, I thought you had to escape and use the tuner somewhere else.
If you exit the main room and try to get back in while the enemies are patrolling there it's literally impossilble to sneak past them. I had to lower the difficulty and rush to them to kill them all with the wrench, and even that was difficult.
Also why you can't pick up a detector because you already have 3 inyour inventory. This is ***ing stupid
