Any horror game suggestions for players who loved this game? *slight spoilers*
Sure, the game could drag on for a bit, but the first half of the game was absolutely one of the scariest game experiences I've ever had. Not just scary but immersive too, like you were really on the station. (Honestly I actually started to feel sad irl when I heard that poor cat crying in the vents, even though it's just an audio file haha.)

Has anyone else played a horror game that evoked this same feeling? I've tried games like Re7 and Outlast and while they were good they just didn't evoke the same vibe. Suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

For me, the one game that came closest was SOMA. Dark and scary at times, no weapons to fight with so it's a lot of running and hiding.

I could also recommend Prey (2017). It has a similar vibe going, especially in the early to mid game. You're stuck on a space station with aliens and it's very creepy at times. You can build your character around stealth and hacking so you can sneak and hide from many aliens rather than just blast them with the shotgun all the time. I personally think Prey is one of those hidden gem type of games that somehow didn't make much of a splash when it released and barely anybody ever talks about it, yet it's an absolutely top shelf game. GOTY 2017 for me.

I thought prey was absolutely AWFUL. It's a plastic Bioshock in space, minus any of the good gameplay or atmosphere. The enemy design I found incredibly dull after a time when the novelty of them wore off (which wore off VERY fast), the fact they constantly respawn became extremely tiresome too. I thought the story and lore was shallow and badly fed to the player as well, falling to pieces at the halfway point of the game and the combat sucked ass. One of the very few games in my life I quit halfway in as I simply didn't give a ♥♥♥♥ how it ended.

The only directly similar games you seem aware of - Outlast/Outlast 2/Amnesia/Soma etc.

But have you considered anything else? If you like horror in general I'd always recommend Silent Hill 1-3 which in my mind are the best survival horror games ever made of that type, and extremely skin crawling scary but they are difficult to play now as they aren't readily available.

You must be smoking crack or something, Prey was dripping with atmosphere. Had a great story, had great music, tons of exploration - using the GLOO gun to build bridges and steps to get up walls and over places was great, all kinds of secrets to find. That DLC they made was great too.

If you put all your skill points in to health and weapon damage then yeah, it probably gets boring just wading through everything blasting your shotgun.
