Showing the queen doesn`t mean it had to be a boss fight. It could have been a simple cut scene. Or they could of had a scene where it chases you and you have to run away from it. That would make sense and still follow the same basic gameplay. Imagine a queen chasing you through Sevastopol. That`d be pretty cool.
1. Because the game is based on the first movie alone, just a single alien (except when there's more than one at the end because only one alien isn't a challenge anymore) with a heavy focus on survival horror.
2. If players saw a queen they'd expect to fight the queen. If they expected to fight a queen they'd also expect a power loader suit and a pulse rifle.
Although the game probably would've sold better if there was a boss fight, a power loader and a pulse rifle... all those things go heavily against what the game is supposed to be. In that respect I think the game suffered in sales and expectations from players. For lots of people, when they think of the Alien franchise, they think of power loaders and pulse rifles. The first movie is that old one where the alien doesn't show up until half way through and isn't shown very much because it looks kinda dumb. The second movie, with its pulse rifles and action, is the best one in the franchise, so they expect something like that from an Alien game.
Agreed. Don't how many people played this but Alien Resurrection on PS1 (remember that terrible Alien game that had god horrendous controls), even that piece of trash game managed to have an encounter with a queen....
If they wanted to include a queen boss fight they didn't have to make it into a huge event, they didn't have to have Amanda get into a power loader to fight it, she could have easily just driven it backwards with a flamethrower and made it have a bad fall and injure itself or something, just anything to show the fans what we really wanna see... But like other say it's like Sega just threw it in the too hard basket and said nah let's just stick to the lever pulling...
The basic argument would have been, “We already have the model. Just rework the plot to fit it in.”
I think trying to remake the first alien in a game sense was a mistake, this games super boring so far... I really think this game was trying to cash in on walking sims like amnesia, its not what I expected, so far I'm not that impressed by this.
Tellin ya the first alien film was exciting cause it had roles and dialogue. And well scripted storyline, this is just annoying and boring. Glad I only spent 2$ and yea I'll finish it, I mean, its a 20gb hunk of my HD.. But the reviews, the game of the year stuff, the 9's and 10's... For a game that ripped off amnesia but does it worse? I don't get it so far guess I need to be on chapter 12 or something to get it.
You're not a serious person. You know why? Because in your review for this game you told people to play Colonial Marines instead.
No serious person would ever recommend anybody play Colonial Marines. Only someone with absolutely no taste, or a troll, would ever say such an outrageously ridiculous thing.
That's why I beat and enjoyed amnesia DD, I'm not just a shooter fan, just the alien shoorters are miles better than this no game walking sim.
Walking simulator? Lol.
