Nvidia 3D Vision
So i got myself some active shutterglasses, after installing the software to run games in 3D, Alien Isolation was the first thing on my mind.

Even though the game is not 3D ready, compatibility rating checks out as excellent. My specs allowed for 1080p 24fps (movie mode) or 720p 60fps (gaming mode), so i went for a higher refresh rate cause the lower resolution is less noticable when projected on a big screen, and lack of motion becomes more noticable instead.

First impression it all looked kinda flat despite the long corridors, this until i got aliens and robots in my face popping way out of the screen, this was a little bit much as in holy ♥♥♥♥ that is close. Overall it looks pretty good and it might need a little adjustment to push the depth a little bit into the background. (Haven't tried it yet, but this can appearantly be adjusted in the Nvidia 3D settings, not the game itself)

The game is technically flat, so all the menus and pre-rendered cutscenes will appear flat, but for all 3D elements it will render in stereoscopic 3D and becomes readily appearant on the menu screen where you see a tiny spaceship against the backdrop of a huge planet (is it a planet?).

I'm not a VR guy, i don't think the tech is where i want it to be yet, but the 3D stuff is becoming affordable since teh hype is down. I just needed a cheap projector so i bought one that is out of production and it came with 3D ready technology installed, my GPU already had the 3D support available for installation, all i needed to buy was one set of 3D glasses to use the stuff i already owned.

If you have the tech (3D glasses, 3D screen/projector), try this game out, the slow pacing along with the sneaking and hiding is pretty immersive. 3D glasses make the view darker, don't forget to adjust the screen settings in the game when the glasses are on.

Alien Isolation 3D, not perfect, but pretty sweet.

Good God. I would have literally sh*t my pants tonight if I had been playing 3D.

You remember that scene where Dallas turns around and... yeah. Only I was climbing into a dark vent and turned the light on that big head as soon as I climbed in (just did a post about it).

I remember the days NVIDIA users put up Filters for their gfx cards. Ever since I switched to AMD gfx with my MSI 480 gaming cards... I haven't been able to find any decent ones.

There used to be a 3D filter available free for NVidia ... wish there was for mine.
You could also apply filters like strobe light, flourscent, day-glo, black white, sepia.. etc.

All sorts of crap. Never tried them on Alien though.... I had to upgrade to this to be able to play it.

I bet it is freaky. Try "Basement" with it. LOL

Report back if you don't die of a heart attack. :P
