The most difficult mission?
In my opinion the mission where you need to find password for the coward in medical lab and find a trauma pack for your colleague is very difficult.

The resources are scarce. You don't have the flamethrower. The map design is circular, making it easier to be encountered by the alien.

Mission 6 is harder because in addition to the alien it also has looters and an android, not to mention it's hard to spot the alien lurking in the vents above during the emergency sequence. Oh, and the area around Lingard's office is narrow as hell. I never struggled in Mission 5, dying there only two times on my first playthrough (on Hard), but in Mission 6 I must've died ten times back then.

Hard to say. Each mission has similiar difficulty after mission 5.

Mission 5 may seem the hardest because it is first mission where you truly are hunted by the alien. It may seem hard but in reality it's just too long. There are so many places to hide where inexperieced player will stay most of the time. I strugled there on my first playthrough but on my second it was very easy to get through without deaths fairly quickly.

Ï can't remember which mission it is (probably 17), but my hardest mission was probably the one with the pool tables. There are few places where you can safely hide and you need to travel across the level several times. Second hardest mission would be when you need to avoid several hazmat androids in the orange/blue part.

Honestly for me the hardest moment in the game was the first encounter with four humans when you pick up the hacking tool. I died so many times trying to figure out their vision range while carefully planning my non-lethal tactic to avoid every one of them. What's the result of me being so smart? I ditched my attempt to be non-lethal Ripley and just smashed a guy with wrench. Genius!

Funny that humans in A:I are the hardest enemies. At least for me. Even androids are not that hard to avoid. Humans though... Thankfully alien helped a lot with them! I kinda regreted launching him in far away galaxy.

Mission 5 the first time you play it is an incredibly tense experience. There is an easy way to beat it though, so don't spoil yourself by watching a speedrun or anything.

Missions 6 and 17 are probably the hardest and take the longest to learn.

Same for me : I almost quit playing the game at that point and I still think that's the worst part of the game. You have no idea where you need to go, no tool except the wrench... it's die and retry except you don't know what the game expects from you. Do I have to kill them to get some weapon ? Do I need to take the hacking tool and go back where I came from ? etc

I ended up looking a guide for this one, and I'm glad I did as the game is absolutely fantastic.

I disagree about humans being the most dangerous ennemies though : after that part they are pretty easy to deal with in my opinion. The alien and androids scare me to death, but the humans ? nope :)

on a side note I'm amazed so many people seem to remember the missions numbers by heart : mission 5 is the one we talk about ? And 6 is in the medical area ? I barely know which mission number I'm currently in (just talked to apollo) :D

The mission you are talking about is mission 3. Mission 5 is the medical area after you meet the doctor and use the Morley's code.

Edit: And the mission you are/were in is mission 13. Had to google this one but it's the same one I mentioned in my post. You can keep track of which mission you are in by going to main menu - load game - load mission (the last one is the one you are in). I don't remember if you can see the mission number anywhere else.

In the achievements.

Thanks guys, yeah the only part I noticed them is in the achievements but I quickly forget ^^

I also died quite a few times on mission 5 then (playing on hard) but it didn't feel like mission 3 as I knew what to do and (more or less) where to go. It felt like "ok the devs want me to learn about the alien" so that wasn't as frustrating.

Also had a hard time with the androids while getting to the comms to contact Samuels, didn't die but I remember going out running full speed with several androids chasing me, and one grabbing me a few meters from the elevator. Very cinematic escape !

I nearly lost hope a couple of times but then you get some new weapon which make feel a little bit more comfortable...until the next time :-)
I died a lot of time in mission 16 and at this point of time I really had enough, until I read in the forum that we should not crouch walk all the time and we should walk, the noise is the same for the Xeno. Suddenly it worked much better and I re-built enough confidence to finish the game.

Yes. I had the same experience with you. Someone told me to walk instead of crouching it became way better.

The nest is very hard I agree. There're more than one Alien and the area is very congested, meaning you'll encounter the Alien very easily.
