Missed an ID tag, can I get back to it?

I got an ID tag near the environmental control after the bit with Kuhlman, but I died and forgot to collect it again. Now i've passed through a one way vent system and cannot get back there. My question is, is it possible to come back to that room and collect it later? Or is there only one chance in the entire game to get it and I missed it?

Yes, there are a couple points at which you can go back to some missed areas. Not sure what the earliest point is, but mission 12 (I think) and 16 come to mind for one reason or another which I won't spoil.

So I can eventually go back to this room in particular, right? (directly after the elevator ride after Kuhlman's thing)

As mentioned mission 12 is a good one to backtrack to missing ID (with 16 i dont have experience). However, i have read somewhere you can replay missions and quit immediality when grabbing ID. It will be saved. (proof= https://www.trueachievements.com/a191312/the-taken-achievement )

BUT i have no clue what happens with your actual progress, i get a warning the savegame will be overwritten. I believe and i need to test it out: you will lose every savepoints further from any mission start. So when you just entered mission let us say for example 12 and didnt make any progress there, and just replay mission 8 for example to grab a ID tag (and dont use any savepoints) and then "replay" mission 12 you will be fine. Problem is using elevator=automatically savepoint.

As i said before, i need to test it out since i am missing ID A.Fielding which is where i crawl with Axel through vents. I dont know how to backtrack from the game to that location.

Edit: you want to try it yourself, then make a backup from your savegames just to be sure. C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\YOURSTEAMIDNUMBER\214490\remote

You can technically go back during mission 15 as well. Actually 15 is better for another reason since you get the level 3 hack tool at the end of it and can immediately backtrack to the elevator on the main floor to the upstairs crisis unit where Kuhlman was and open doors you couldn't open before, as well as take the elevator back down to the hallway with the morgue.

If you load a mission save then your current and previous saves get overwritten, I'm pretty sure.

Well i noticed when i use savepoint and backtrack to a ID and after getting it i use load current save i am back to where i was but the ID is still in my inventory.

I wasnt be able to trackback to the morgue to get missing ID C.McCormack (first appearance in Mission 6). I tried this twice but i ends in walking rounds in primary care floor. There is a ladder on map which looks like connect both floor but when i am there there is no ladder.

I also have problem with finding ID tag from A.Fielding and i know where it is but i cant backtrack to that location (sevastopol spaceflight terminal - freight shipping)?

Well, i know the IDtags can be done in more runs, so maybe i will get these 2 after finishing this run and simple quit the mission when i have them and the achievement will popup.

Was the one in the drawer thing in the cold room C. McCormack? If so, then the reloading thing worked, as I see him in my missing persons log, although I still see the object icon on the map.

I loaded from chapter 6, did not manually save, got the ID tag, and then loaded the previous save.

I can confirm i get the A.Fielding ID tag by loading Mission 2 and then using previous savegame i was back at where i am actually in the game (mission 16) and the ID stay in inventory. Just dont use any savepoints and go directly to your missing ID and after that immediality quit the mission and use previous savegame. (current savegame will bring you to the start from the mission you selected). Just to be sure i use savepoint again in mission 16 so i have double same savepoints at once.

After that i also have grabbed the C.McCormick ID in mission 6 and repeat as above. Now i have all missing ID.
