Mac PS3 Controller Compatibility

Hi all,

So I bought this game to play on my MacBook Pro (latest model, as of 2020), and I've been enjoying it. I'm trying to connect a PS3 controller to my Mac to play it, but I'm having beyond zero luck figuring it out, and I've been deep diving to try and make it work. The closest I've gotten is using an application to individually program keyboard strokes to the controller, but I've hit a wall there too.

This is all very frustrating as in the game's FAQ, it specifically states that PS3 controllers are supported, otherwise I'd move on. Has anyone done this before? Am I missing something, a setting on my computer, is there a driver that I need to download, etc..? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I forgot to mention, the closest I've been able to get it to work got me some basic key functions (movement, accessing the movement scanner), but it was still unplayable. The only way I could use something like my stun baton was by pressing the downwards D pad button, which pulls up an item but also makes me run backwards!

Saw your post because Ive been having a similar issue in attempt to use my xbox controller that i usually use on my windows pc. I recently got a MacBook Pro as well (latest as of 2020) and my laptop senses the connection via bluetooth, but the Alien Isolation itself chooses to ignore that there is a controller connect via bluetooth to the macbook. I suppose ill try using a PS3 controller like you eventually. Ill try and keep you updated.
