It doesn't need a remaster, just an update. The spacesuit parts are my favourite imo except for that story from marlow(?).
Where is the horror, the fear and the atmosphere if you start the story with a fully upgraded character? (Would be only good for speedruns or skin unlocks.... but there is no time and there are no skins)
And you could run straight to the end of the game with the lvl 3 hacking tool.
Ever tried the survival mode? You can start with some equipment in this mode and it has a ranking for each map.
And a remaster would be super useless.
The game looks still better than some new games - The only thing they could do is to bring an update that gives an ingame option to use the engine tweaks that some of us already use here. It looks much better than it already does with these tweaks. But with a remaster, too many people would complain because the original looks the same or even better, depending on the settings. (Similar problem already existed at BioShock) And so far i can see, the game already has its hd textures. (what's mainly the reason for a remaster - maxed-out engine settings and hd textures)
Fox (Better said Disney -.-) can think about a 8k remaster or a remake in 8-15 years.
e: language...
8K will make almost no visual difference unless you are inches away from the surface. It's useless performance loss.
In 8-15 years it makes a difference.
I'm talking about textures... and 8k textures are much better than fhd textures or even sd textures.
Even the current 4k textures (which some games have optional because of the vram and drive space) are much better than fhd... and now double that on a future screen. (e: and the first 8k screens are already available, even when they still need a decade to be in each living room)
btw: The higher the screen resolution, the closer you need to sit in front of it. But screens become bigger and bigger. 43" screens are rare nowadays. 5x" is the minumum. And the day will come where they improve some stuff. (just look at the last 15 years regarding screens and graphics)
My 4k tv has the same required distance as my previous fhd tv, simply because he is 10-11" bigger.
When I have played games in 4k, I only notice a difference when comparing each closely, in normal gameplay theres no difference. Visuals won't get much different than it is now, because of costs and hardware limitation. Yes, photorealism is possible but not in a game with 50 different things happening at once and millions of pollygons. A computer like that would be over £10k. The next generation of consoles will be enough for 4k, pretty much todays games on PC. 8k won't be a realistic choice commercially. It won't make money because of the work requried, games will have to be increased in price... On top of their shady 'DLC' and microtransaction.
Agreed it would be too soon for a re-release with a graphical overhaul that also ironed out the glitches and added some new features maybe along with extra areas and missions, because the graphics are still amazing by today's standards. But I'm thinking long-term
There is a huge difference if you have a eye for details.
Again... just look 8-15 years back and compare the things.
That's different. Changes with graphics only look different if they are worse than the capabilities of the human eye.
I didn't say theres NO difference at all, I said you gotta look closely, which you also said. "if you have a eye for details". Why is that important? I want the visuals to be ... visual, from the get-go. I don't want to have to look for tiny little details. 4K is actually the best we can see with our 'lil human eyes. Anything more, the difference in detail is so small there's absolutely no gain to have it. What we have now on consols isn't even true 4K, they say it is but they hide the fact the games run in 30fps with motion blur. The only things that are 4K are TV's and TV programs.
Yes games SUPPORT 4k but that does not mean they ARE 4k, they are upscaled, which is not true 4K. They do this because consoles can't run true 4K and the visual difference is so miniscule, there's almost no point to have it.
In Isolation a B story could be played as Ricardo. It could begin with you setting the trap for the alien (the one that explodes just as Ripley, Taylor and Samuels are crossing the rope to board Sevastopol), and instead of ending with -SPOILERS- Ricardo getting facehugged, it could end with Ricardo and Ripley escaping together.
Or a different kind of B-story, where Axel is waiting for you the moment you board Sevastopol and you have to go through the game with the alien around 24/7.
Just something. Anything. I WANT MORE ALIEN ISOLATION ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ DEVS!
I have to atest to that the challange mode is all well and good but if you memorise the routes, the challange is far less, the challange aspect now is to beat my already pretty great times and the dlc wasnt overly long either something new would give the series
more firepower for the future.
