It is kind of strange that those two aliens in the scripted scene don't attack her though. One of them definitely sees her.
Well a while ago someone on this forum dug up a bunch of unused/abandoned dialogue and storylines from the game files. It seems they had a different story arc for the game which was changed at the end of development. Maybe it has something to do with that.
Yup. In the earlier version of the game The Torrens finds an abandoned ship before they arrive at Sevastopol. This was the last ship to leave Sevastopol. Ripley gets on board to investigate and everybody is dead (probably an alien got on board). It only had hypersleep space for like 10 people, but the people on Sevastopol were so desperate that tons of people got on to it.
Also in the abandoned version of the game Marlow had a much bigger part.
Omg I played this game so many times, speedrunning even, and never considered this ending as she having a nightmare! But it makes sense, glad the Torrens crew survived.
It wasn't a nightmare, it happened, but some of the Torrens crew possibly survived. Verlaine or her crewmate possibly locked themselves on the bridge then maybe flew the ship to rescue Ripley after she ejected the alien. The light we see on her face could be the Torrens coming to rescue her.
I doubt it though. I think Torrens crew died and the light we see on her face is a Weyland Yutani ship arriving to take control of Sevastopol, which they bought a few weeks prior after Ransome covertly told them there's a new lifeform on board.
