Best/Worst (or most disliked) Missions in the game
What are peoples favorite missions in the game? and least favorite?

Most favorite: Desolation or Outbreak. Also like the mission after The Trap. Alot to choose from
Least favorite: Anesiadora (Spelling) mission. Didn't like the Reactor one that much either

Also spoilers.

Medical facility was best for me, tense, you're still learning the ropes as the player, ripley is still a bit underpowered, for me was the first mission where the Alien was truly stalking me quite badly and I had to fight for every inch of progress with constant hiding etc.

Agree it dragged on VERY badly in the end. So many times (after the epic showdown at the reactor) I was convinced 'this' was the last mission, but it kept going on. and on... and on, just one more thing to do, then just one more, then another... almost like they added padding for the sake of it. It stopped being an enjoyable tense ride and became tedious because I just wanted it to end.

Worst mission, 17 & 18. Beyond tedious, was over it by then.

Saying this only because I finished it just this minute, I wont let it ruin the overall experience. Still highly recommended, best Alien game, ever.

Maybe spoilers, I even don't know what I'm doing here.
Entered Sevastopol, and I have no ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ idea what I'm supposed to to, walking the same and same floors again. No progress, no logic to see here, pretty annoying. Collected some stuff, listened to some audio books, checked some consoles, and that's it. What to do? What am I doing wrong? Please help me to start over, as I literally just restarted the game for a new beginning. I don't get the catch.

We can help, but you'll need to be a bit more specific about the furthest point you've reached. I know a few people get stuck after turning on the power in the spaceflight terminal

Mission 9, Have to walk with no run, on top of that this mission has broken my game and will not let me progress so far and idk why

Gotta be mission 9. One of those missions that's interesting the first time, but you groan whenever you reach it on subsequent playthroughs! As foggy said above, would have been nice to be able to have the option to skip mission 9 after having completed it once already.

My favourite mission is where you first meet the Working Joes (where you find the motion tracker). Incredible atmosphere in this mission. It has the calm before the storm, then all hell breaks loose when you contact Samuels and the Working Joes come after you with the alarms going off, then on the final part of the mission you can hear other survivors speaking through comms begging for help, and the alien is hiding in the ceiling.

Sickbay... It was by far the most intense level for me at least. It took me hornestly 2 days to complete simply because my nerves couldn't stand the pressure of being hunted by that unpredictable thing. The one moment where you have to get into the round area where you are to search for Dr. Morleys keycard was the worst as you litterary only had one way in and out of it with that stupid Alien patrolling the whole thing every 2 minutes (at least in my game it did it).

The whole thing gave me nightmares for at least one week XD

My last play through was the most stressful towards the end off the game when you're going through the kinda recreation areas listening to the tapes about them coming and taking the guys kids etc. I'm not sure what happened but the Alien was in full crazy mode because it was literally climbing in the vents with me and everything and I'd never seen it do that before and it just felt like it was everywhere at the same time. I got jump scared so many times that run it was crazy lol

I'm assuming because I had charged through the game and flamed the alien as much as possible that all the hidden AI "tech tree" ability gates were open and the Alien was just in full ♥♥♥♥ me up mode but it showed me that the game could still give me a scare even when I thought I'd figured it out.

I wasn't really a fan of the Working Joe missions...felt more like a drawn out grind than anything suspenseful. It also kind of irked me that the xenomorph never attacked the Joes. Regadless of the reasons, it seemed inconsistent with the franchise universe -- rip Bishop.

The Queen attacked Bishop because he was between her and Ripley and Newt, Aliens in the lore pretty much ignore androids as long as they don't become a threat, they can't feed from them and they can't breed from them so they just see them as any other piece of equipment around the place.

If the Jo's had attempted to defend the humans in the station the aliens would have attacked them.

I think it's perfectly consistent. The Joes in Isolation have been reprogrammed to protect the aliens. They're no threat. Bishop was a threat to them in Aliens.

I realise that the xenomorph(s) wouldn't hunt or harvest synthetics because they can't be fertilized or eaten. And are effectively "invisible" as far as scent and body heat are concerned, as with all machinery.

In the novelisation of Aliens, Bishop contemplates this very conversation while crawling through the pipe. There was a moment where Bishop looks through a corroded hole and a xenomorph slams its jaws against the hole. He didn't move and the xenomorph moved on. Bishop went on to contemplate whether the xenomorph's actions were in reaction to his movement or if it thought he was human.

When back on the ship, Bishop was effectively just standing there when the Queen stabbed him in the back with her tail before climbing off of the shuttle. He wasn't really in her way at that point nor a direct threat.

Now, again, I understand that the Joes wouldn't be hunted or attacked by the xenomorph in the same manner as humans or other animals. However, there are several instances where Joes get within cuddle range of the xenomorph, and even speak to it, while both are searching for the player.

Given the Joes' movement and very close proximity (being in the xenomorph's way), it would be reasonable to expect the xenomorph to attack the Joes -- or at the very least, react to them in some other fashion. Maybe hissing and staring down the Joes similar to what it does when reacting to distraction devices like noise makers and flares. Even so, if the xenomorph is on alert and a Joe brushes against its tail, there's no reason why the xenomorph wouldn't have a knee-jerk reaction the same way when the player does it.

All that being said, and to return to the OP subject, that's not really the reason why I don't enjoy Joe central levels. To me, these levels just feel like a drawn-out grind and the Joes are more annoying than scary.

This conversation is interesting but perhaps it's better to save it for a separate post so as not to derail the OP topic.
