Does the PC version of this game look any better than the PS4 version?
I`ve played through the PS4 version several times and am thinking about buying the PC version. I`m trying to decide if it is worth the money. So is it safe to assume that if I ran this game at 4k, 60 fps, and all graphic settings on max it would be immediately noticeable? I know the game is kind of old at this point so does it even support 4k? Really love this game and I`m hoping a huge boost to the graphics will give me another reason to play it again.

And todays pc systems shouldn't have any issues to play it in 4k with 60fps.

And you can tweak it more and more. This makes some current games look worse than this old ham.

Just a few examples of a self-tweaked version with 1440p resolution.

And here a older tweaked version with 1080p for my old system (mainly guide based):

There are no 4k screenshots, because I'm watching on the power consumption. No need for 4k and its double power consumption because it looks already good in 1440p and even on 1080p.

No reshade crap etc is used.. just tweaks and nvidia settings. (The one or other ini tweak is also available as guide - that's good to start with it)

E: Regarding the comment above: You will get sound issues if you play with more than 60 fps. At least with more than 100

PC version looks better than consoles with mods.

Yeah but how much better? Enough to buy the game again?

You shouldn't be paying 40 dollars for an almost 6 year old dollars game now.
I bought it for like 15 dollars on one of the sales.

In that case, it is easily worth it.

Yeah, you`re right. I was planning on getting it when it is on sale for around 15 or 20 dollars. That doesn`t really answer my question though. Is there a significant difference between the PS4 version or is it pretty much the same but with better anti-aliasing?

Well, It depends, like resolution and framerate. From what I see, PS4 runs at 1080p? but 30fps? I guess that'll depend if your TV has reduce blur motion to make it look more amazing. Other than that, the PC version depending your rig, you can run it at 60 or higher.

So yea, it would be worth it, but definitely recommend getting it on sale.

Those were some really good screenshots. The one with the Alien walking past the door looked significantly better than the PS4 version. Maybe I never noticed but I don`t recall the PS4 version having screen space reflections like that. I think that`s what those are called. You can see the Aliens reflection perfectly on the ground. That`s the sort of thing my topic was asking about. I guess I will buy the game when I see it on sale. With Halloween coming up hopefully it will be sometime soon.

You can also get mods for a better fov and improved AA.
DessIntress Sep 6, 2019 @ 5:09am
@ -|Nur|-
There is no need for a AA mod etc.
AA can be improved via gc settings. FOV is also a ini thing. (Such things aren't mods)
It's like adding HBAO+
The default FOV is also totally fine. (On a 16:9 device)

@ Just Aaron
Yep, that's the screen space reflections. It's a really quick point with a huge difference and also explained in almost all guides or on pcgamingwiki etc.
Btw: Use bing/google image search if you aren't sure about some screenshots and their improvemts. Like 'Alien Isolation transit station' etc. I wanted to insert one for each shot, but that would have become a wall-of-text - and we all have our search engine.

Yeah but there's a 50% chance the key you buy was purchased with stolen credit card information and the developers see 0% of the money.

Or worse forces the devs to pay for the chargeback

Man, I appreciate every ones advice here. When I do eventually buy it, it will be on Steam or GoG. Those are the only two I use. GoG for DRM free games and if they don`t have it I use Steam.

i have both. the console ( PS4 Pro ) version are crap, because u have big input lag with the controller, dont know why but it is not fixed. the PC version looks better have not input lag and u can mod it to VR Ready. always when i play the console version, it feels really ♥♥♥♥♥ , just because of the input lag.
