Space Jockey level is jaw dropping
It is like watching Alien the first time, and I got chills man.
Tbh, i am not quite a fan of this game. It feels very rough around the edges.
But the atmosphere, sound design, and this retro-future aesthetic are absolutely fantastic.
And the recreation of the Space Jockey hall felt like diving into H.R Giger's art itself, or that Alien scene itself. I can not imagine the immersion you get with VR.

What a magnificent ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ franchise this was before the senile tard Riddley Scott mangled it with its the cheapo ♥♥♥♥♥♥ prequels, in the typical Hollywood fashion.

I would give this game one thing. This game actually feels like a worthy installement to Alien. Even more so than B-movie action flick "Aliens".

Oh man. I agree with everything you said. Well, except for the part about Aliens being a B-movie action flick. But everything else is on the money. Aliens was different from the first movie but just as good in my opinion.

Where do I sign to trash Aliens?

Kidding, I watch it sometimes. The first part.
But yes, I agree

The chapter where you are Marlow absolutely kills the pacing of the game. It's neat and all but it is also the worst part of the game

Disagree, i think the game needed to slow down and take a breather at that point after the stress and tension of the medical section. Being a fan of the first Alien movie, the Marlow flashback was probably the best part of the game for me.

Worst part of the game was the last couple of levels, and the ending was such a letdown to an otherwise amazing game.

this is even better to play in the backround on loop

Agreed. Recreating that whole chapter from Alien was so utterly pointless. Aliens came out like seven years after Alien and many viewers hadn't seen the original, but it still didn't waste its audience's time by redoing it when Newt's family finds the ship. The chapter can't be failed. It’s just walking and more walking that becomes tedious when replayed. Marlow could have just told us (Amanda) what happened. Also, the beacon that we never saw in Alien just looks ridiculous in Alien: Isolation.

This^
Destroyed the pace of the game completely.
The whole thing felt out of place and, tbh, a little boring.

A toss up between this level & the 'SpaceWalk Fix The Antenna' mission for the honour of 'Most Boring' part.

Why`d you quote me? I wasn`t the one calling it a B-movie.

That bit is indeed fun the first time through the game. However, you'll come to wish it could be skipped every time you play through the game again!

I loved this level, too. Thoroughly enjoyable (this is not sarcasm).

In fairness... isn't Ridley Scott just the director of Alien, Prometheus & Covenant? In terms of direction I think he did a great job. In terms of writing Dan O'Bannon wrote Alien and some not so great writers did Prometheus and Covenant. Then again maybe Ridley Scott had final say on the script? Not sure.

Anyway... pretty much agree with you sir, though I think Aliens is a sci-fi action horror masterpiece sequel to a straight horror masterpiece.

They actually did record that, though it was cut from the theatrical release, but directors cut editions of the movie have the various scenes of them driving to the ship, exploring it, and newt's father getting dragged back to their vehicle.

All from the exterior of the ship. At a distance, Newt's perspective, who stays in the rover. We never see the interior because that would have been a waste of time, a repeat. Still, I'm glad it was removed for the theatrical cut, as seeing what happened at the colony before the marines arrive hurt the suspense.

It's been a while since I have seen it, but agreed. The unknown brings a lot more suspense to it, then knowing what is going on.
