How close can it hear the beeping.
I know that the ayy will hear the motion detector's beeping if it's close enough, but does anyone know how close? The detector has a little distance teller thing at the bottom left that tells you how far the nearest contact is or something, has anyone used that to guage when the ayy will hear you?

The same way when you are in the locker hiding and use for the same instance the motion detector and the alien is 30-20 yards.

So it can hear it when it's about 30 yrds or whatever unit of measurement the game uses away? What if he's above you? I've had that happen, he'd be right above me in the vents.

If is in the ventilation with you run away and find another spot to hide.

No, I mean in the vent above me when I'm in a room.

The main thing to remember is not to use the motion tracker if the alien is close enough that you can track it by the sounds it makes instead (it's more efficient anyway to use your own senses of sight and sound when the alien is close ). It will hear the tracker if it walks near the locker you're hiding in, or it's next to an object you're hiding behind/under. The distance at which the alien can hear the beep generally isn't that great though, so if it isn't dangerously close to you then it's usually safe to use the tracker.

Depends on the difficulty, but it has to be really really really ridiculously close to hear it. Like if you're inside a locker and he's right outside the locker.

Motion tracker is just put in the game to distract you anyway. Pros like me use their ears to know where the alien is.
