Use VR for this game or no? lol.
Haha Dribbles !!
I find Hard to be the best difficulty,it's intense and Dribbles can be dynamically unpredictable at times but it still stays fun..
However even after finishing this game many times,i still get scared and Dribbles can jump scare me alot lol
Playing with headphones really adds to the experience
I so love this game
I think I picked up the name from the Zero Punctuation review and when I’m taking about the alien from Isolation specifically I refer to him as that now
The difficulty basically says how close he cones to you. Like
Easy - wanders far
Normal - wanders in the same area
Hard - generally knows where you are
Nightmare - get out of my personal space
" I Admire its Purity " is an actual achievement in the game :p
I’d install the mod that makes the Alien wander around further, and getting the flamethrower later makes things much easier but that isn’t for a few hours. The mechanics are pretty tight and hard to learn and the game is excellent fun if you are an Alien fan, but if you simply aren’t having fun that’s fair.
I started a nightmare run. I problaby have a deep suicidal wish or something.... Ofc it does help that I played through the game on hard around release, still remember how it works. Have to constantly be careful, use different hideouts and not hang around too much while still never ever run.
Its also supposed to adapt to weapons from what I have heard, so ex if you using the flamer later on constantly it doesnt care as much. Similar with other stuff you use so you have to use different methods.
Yeah the stealth mechanics are very subtle and the game is very hard, if you want to give the game another go, put it on easy so he wanders further from you and maybe check a stealth tutorial? I’ve beaten the game a few times now, hard and nightmare. It is very punishing but the stealth is thankfully consistent and logical, aka, he won’t just spot you for ‘no reason’. He will appear in your general area because, well they need him for gameplay sections then wander around you, the easier the setting the further away.
It’s one of my fave games but I totally get why people can’t get into it or find it too hard. Hope you end up enjoying it eventually if you care to retry, but yeah, very punishing game

Plus as an Alien fanboy it’s the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ coolest hearing nearly everyone reprise their voice actor roles from the first movie
I think Nightmare mode the Alien should be able to hear you go into lockers IF... it's really close by. Or.. hear doors open/closing nearby that the Alien itself knows shouldn't be opening.
I do know that if you use flares too much in the same area... and consecutively, the Alien will glance at the most recent flare... then go in the exact opposite way (towards you) and begin tip toeing... I've seen it. It is dang creepy.
That's why I like to mix up my distractions... flare, noisemaker, flashbang, EMP, or even the occasional wrench on metal or single shot from pistol if I know I can duck into a vent nearby and clear out of there...
