DirectX 12

So I can't play this game. I have DirectX12 and it say's that my graphic's card doesn't support DirectX 11. I believe my pc has all the spec's to play this game aswell. I have searched for hour's online for a solution with no luck. Is there anyone that would know something about this? Or am I just not able to play this game? Also I have played this on my old Pc. Explain's the hour's.

Check for updates, make sure you have C++ installed as well, so if you have windows 10 and no service packs that casn sometimes be the cause.

I am on Window's 10. What kind of update's do You mean? Like Window's update's? I checked and I am up to date. And what do You mean by downloading C++?

Update your graphics card, then restart your computer and try to run the game again.

Proceed to your Steam directory then steamapps\common\Alien Isolation\_CommonRedist\vcredist\2010.

I had to run the benchmakring utiilty first. then the game worked on win 10 64bit fall creators update

Maybe you do have the DirectX 12 software installed on your PC, but your videocard doesn't support it. Try removing the videocard and play it only with the processor in it. It is pretty easy to reach 40 FPS in this game tho.

The info of my video card say's it support's DirectX 12. The game crashes because it say's my video card doesn't support DirectX 11.

laptop? maybe game is using your onboard graphics and not your graphics card.

I'm using my Lenovo laptop. I did some searching and found my graphic's properties and looked at the info and it say's the version of DirectX it's using is DirectX 11. I'm really confused.

go into the graphics control panel and make sure the game is using the correct graphics card. your laptop "is supposed to" automatically switch but sometimes it doesnt. may have to change the power/performance option also
