Other call on Seegson Communications ?

I've just begun another run through of this great game. Each time I've done that I've had a different experience. This time though after i called Samuels in Seegson Communications (Mission 4) and as i had to walk back through it avoiding the Androids i noticed that there was a voice asking for help as someone was trapped at engineering. I couldn't get to where the message was coming from, due to Androids, and when i reloaded the mission, the message wasn't played again.

Am i hallucinating or has anyone else got it ? I also tried to go directly to engineering, ignoring Samuels and Taylor, but couldn't find anyone in the limited place i could go there.

That hasnt happened on my playthrough, but it did occur during a video playthrough I was watching.
I think maybe you're not meant to actually respond to the message, its just for added tension.
Its weird that sometimes it doesnt occur though.

It was other survivors that making call to seegson comm, it's just environmental effect to surprise you when you're avoiding the androids, you're not supposed to respond to the sound. You can trigger the sounds by entering the comm room, it will take a little time for the sounds to appear though.

Confusing shiz! I searched to find this thread, too. Crazy game. I thought I was missing a side mission! Haha.

I came here not knowing this scene would be discussed, hoping to find a discussion of it. This is where I am. I saved, shot the two (Novice level) androids in the big communication room and was able to wander above and below the floor without opposition. Returning (from the big communications room ) to the area where I came in - near the habitation room - I heard the plea, went down close to the single guard then the goal switched to Reactivate Samuels' Communication. That's the mission at the moment anyway. So at Novice level anyway it appears there is indeed a mission that draws from hearing the transmission. Looking for play throughs to see what I'm missing for the next step since the guard keeps killing me. Too fast.
