Why did Doctor Entertainment abandon Gear up?

I've known for a while that Gear Up is a dead game, But what i've always wondered about it is why was the game abandoned? And what happened to Doctor Entertainment?

You made the million-dollar question! Unfortunately nothing is known, even the betatester are unaware of it. It's as if the Devs have vanished into nothing.
The strange thing is that they disappeared a short time before the release of a full-bodied update, almost ready, that was supposed to go out.
...and now the game is in limbo

Gear Up dead? I don't understand - I've been playing it everyday for 6 months (with almost no bugs). Lotsa fun. (maybe I'M dead?).

Man, i hope that nothing incredibly terrible has happened too the devs. I apparently only live like an hour from their headquarters according to google so that's a possibility.

Why is it possible? What happened in your local area that could make you think this? I insist you go down to their studio to see if Jesper and Anders are ok.

I doubt that anything morbidly bad happened, it's just that they completeley dissapeared without even saying goodbye. But what i suspect is that if i went down there i'd be all empty and for sale. But if i ever get the chance i'd totally check out whats happening there.

WE HAVE CONTACT! I managed to get in contact with Jesper from dotcor entertainment to see what was going on. Unfoutunately the reason to them abandoning the game is that it simply wasn't profitable, and they've had to do other things too keep their families fed and such. But the team in their free time has been slowly working on the game, and may possibly release an update in the future!
