Inventory splitting

I have tried every combo I can think of to split a stack in my inventory to no avail. There has to be a way to grab 1 or 2 pieces of an item. Help!!!

you right click if you're using a mouse to split items.

I don't know about splitting but on an Xbox controller you can press X to move one item at a time.

Thanks - I had to reset my control defaults and now I can right click to sort
