Another "Harvest Moon" spinoff? (another Farming sim game thats just like all the rest???)

I'm just curious and not hate-in on it, but it seems from trailers to be another spin-off


EDIT: seeing how so many people are inflamed by the term "spin-off" I shall restate what i was asking, Another farming sim game the same as all the rest, what is the differences (note I have watch a lot of game-play and read many reviews, and was wanting honest opinions, not trolls saying I'm trolling)

It's not so much a "Spinoff" as it is "In the style of". Harvest Moon/Story of Seasons were the first farming sim games, as far as I know, but that doesn't mean someone else can't come along and make their own version. The creator of Stardew Valley was an avid HM/SoS fan, but the more recent entries before he made his game were becoming stagnant to him, so instead of hoping for someone to make one he'd like, he opted to do it himself.

I love all the Harvest Moon games and Stardew Valley. Fields of Mistria may be in the same class but it is very unique.

This. It's like the people who call everything a Genshin clone or killer. Multiple games are allowed to exist in a category.

A game also having farming doesn't make it a rip off lol, it just makes it another farming game. Them stealing content from HM and veiling it as their own would be a rip off of it. Obvious ties to an HM game with a new twist would be a spin off. This isn't either of those things.

I'm glad things like SDV and FoM take inspiration from old HM games, because aside from Wind of Anthros there hasn't been a decent HM or SoS game in years. They help fill the void they can't anymore.

Ironicly the best responce, I wasnt saying that they're rippin it off, as stated no hate, just wondering if its the basic concept of the "Harvest moon" "Stardew Valley" kinda vibe was all.

Its funny how most people flip off the deep end, as stated, no hate towards the game or concenpt, was just askin if its basicly another of the same type because its become a common tred over the years, YES BECAUSE ITS POPULAR, but ALSO AS STATED WAS ASKIN AS QUESTION!

(random toss in, the other irony is every version of these types of games have they're own way of doing things, so its always fun to play and see, was just wonderin based on trailers and vids seen online if its basicly the same concept)

(will also toss in with the way the community is, i prolly wouldnt invest in it regardless because of how many people just flip out after a basic question(not just mine iv looked at the discussion board, its toxic)

Well it has a unique spin. There's a town that lost several levels of renown after an earthquake. The town leadership wants to hire an adventurer from the adventurer guild to restore the town's renown levels. They offer land, or the farm, as advance payment to entice an adventurer to come to the town. That's you. You increase the town's renown by taking jobs from the job board. It's unique because you're an adventurer who's just getting into farming because you were paid by being given a farm and your primary objective is helping the town.

I never flipped out lol, I went into the specific meaning of those words because I see them everywhere and they have a *negative* connotation when used nowadays. It's why newer games try so hard to be different. The question could've been better worded, but other than that it was never that targeted.

You could also just.. try the game. See if it's different enough for you and refund within 2 hours if not. Not sure why different wordings of this question need to be all over the board. Opinions can be different anyway.

MANY people have been making threads in this community saying that this game is just like Stardew or HM, so there are a few people that are tired of that here. If you scrolled around for a bit you probably would have found a couple yourself.

Is this a HM spin off? No. It's its own game, with its own style. Is it a cozy life sim farming game? Yes. It's got nostalgic anime style to it as well.

Just because this is a farming sim does not make it a HM game. I say this as a fan of both HM and Stardew.
After 10+ hours in this game, I feel like it stands well on its own merits. If you like cozy farming and interacting with cute NPC characters that have an anime style you will probably like this game.

More like another very lazy clone of Stardew Valley but lacking the charm, the content and the enjoyment.
