I got lucky enough to find 2 in spring? It seems rare.
I don't even remember what part of the map I found it.

Rare enough the Devs should increase the spawn rate.

I've found them by the ruins on the east side, in the park in town, and in the narrows... just have to wander. They're out there.

by the ruins and on the beach, I've had a couple spawn near the coconut trees

If you have the perk for it, they can fall out of trees you chop down in spring.

A morel is a type of mushroom, it looks like it has holes all over it and is light in color

I found a few near the lighthouse and the river otw to the museum..

i went out to forage nearly every day in spring but after the season change with still no morel i just waited out until balor's wagon had it randomly one day

But joke aside, you can found it later in balor wagon, i'm can confirm this , bcs don't found him at spring too and buy him at his wagon

I found mine at the beach. Make sure you keep gathering other stuff just so they aren't taking up a location that the morel could spawn at. Even if you don't have bag space you can still pull them up so the spot is free for something else to grow.

I chopped one of the trees down over at the chicken statue and a morel was hiding behind it.
